It’s obvious that the meat processing billionaires got to somebody in the administration because a day after an ICE raid on one of those facilities, they abruptly stopped. That industry employs a huge number of immigrants.

The offseason so far - Are the Sabres better?
GASabresIUFAN replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I was thinking about the ins and outs since trading deadline. I'm not evaluating specific transactions but where the new player fits into the lineup vs the former player (or soon to be former player) 1) Cozens for Norris - Out a middle six center for a top 6 center. Cozens on a good team is probably a 3rd line center/wing while Norris, when healthy (a big if), is a 2 line center. In the event Norris stays healthy, this would be an upgrade. Of course, it's more likely to crash and burn when Norris gets hurt. 2) JJP for Doan - Out is a top line scoring winger in is a bottom six (likely 4th line) grinding winger. This erases and then some any benefit from the possible addition of Norris 3) Joki for Kesselring - This is replacing a of mediocre 2nd/3rd pairing D with a better defensive 2nd/3rd pairing. 4) Clifton for Timmins - We swaped a physical but poor defensive 3rd pairing D, for a not nearly as physical, but better defensively, 3rd pair RHD 5) Reimer for Lyons - possible a small upgrade, but Reimer actually was our best goalie down the stretch last season. 6. Malenstyn for Danforth - What? If Danforth wins a roster spot it will because he beat out Malenstyn for the job. My guess is he'll be better than Malenstyn, but then again who wouldn't be? -
Seriously though, what’s the chances of a teenager from the Czech Republic in the year 2025 being a big Goo Goo Dolls fan? Given they announced the pick, it just seems like the Sabres knew this and he was the pick from the very beginning.

If only those immigrants worked for Republican farms and factories they would still be working and not in the concentration camp.

Yay. ICE caught another bad guy. But they continue their disgraceful abuse as there are 250+ immigrants HELD IN CAGES in “Alligator Alcatraz” WITH NO CRIMINAL CHARGES OR CONVICTIONS. Held in cages for MISDEMEANORS. But because this administration has no problem lying about any of this, I’m sure they will invent some bull$hit charges. WTF happened to our country that ANYONE would be OK with this? Now I long ago rejected the religious dogma I was indoctrinated into as a child, but these self-professed Christian politicians need to read their good book again as God clearly states that individuals and nations will be judged on how they treat “the least of these, and that includes the stranger and the poor. Our nation should be ashamed.

There are no secrets about this franchise, owner and how business is done. When one has better options it’s not a surprise that an alternative pathway is preferred by players and potential staff. No one likes living in the ghetto when one can instead live in an upscale suburb. -
Welcome to Trumps America 🤣 You are no different if you allowed it to happen, knew it was happening, even joked about it (it was recorded so cannot try to deny that).

You are misconstruing the knowledge of a list of names with the actuality of the list itself and what actions those people on the list were involved with. What we know is that Epstein was involved in all kinds of illegal activities, including trafficking of minors, etc. What we know is that Trump had involvement with Epstein, so did Bill Gates, so did Bill Clinton, and so on. What we know is that someone has claimed that Trump was really big on power moves and screwing other people's wives along with many other indecent and deplorable ways to treat women. What we DO NOT KNOW is that Trump engaged in pedophilia. What we are reasonably positive of is that there is a list of names and potentially other information. Without that evidence making such claims is irresponsible. You can BELIEVE what you want, but I've never read anywhere of the insinuation that Trump was involved in pedophilia and I'm not going to allow that statement to be made as though it's fact. I am sure that list has a lot of really influential people on it. That's the kind of list that will never be published. It's an indictment on the kind of society we have in the United States (albeit the power matrices go well beyond the US borders). Underneath all of this is the fact that we are dealing with a group of individuals who routinely say anything that comes to mind and then forgets they ever said it. Do I put any credence into what Pam Bondi says? Hell no. Just like I don't listen to most of what anyone in this administration says because it's 99.8% hot air. The US has the reality show it always wanted, in the White House. Not a surprise from a country whose citizens pay more attention to the Kardashians and "Real" Housewives of anywhere than they do their local, state, and national politics.

Everything is falling apart for Trump organization 🤣 Trump stops supporting Ukraine in the war, Calls Zelensky a dictator, takes away many of the sanctions on Russia to allow them to grow in strength. Now all the sudden everything is changing. I love this disaster of an organization, they give us the best entertainment in what not to do.

Matthew Fairburn Latest Article regarding Terry Pegula and Adams

I've met my fair share of athletes. I had one run in with Andrew Peters and it's easily the most obnoxious and inconsiderate run-in I had ever had. He's a buffoon who is hanging on to whatever money he can scrabble from his brief moments in professional hockey. Not a chance in hell I would ever willingly choose to be in the same room with him again. -
What is the source?

If he actually is gotta assume we are would they want Byram as part of the package any chance they would send Helleson back? Mctavish and Helleson for Byram and Krebs and a pick? Or maybe Helenius or Östlund? my rationale would be Byram is better then Helleson, but McTavish is way better then Krebs so I’d assume we need to add

idk and I suspect we never know but remember the shot of Lou Lamorello in the Buffalo airport? So one assumes he interviewed/talked with Terry before Jarmo was hired. Did he say no thanks after seeing the financial constraints and owner oversight or did owner decide he wasn't the right guy and wouldn't say yes enough? Did anyone else say no? Did Shanahan actually call and ask? I have no idea on any of it but I think one thing we can conclude is there are experienced hockey people who are or were interested in coming here but either they sour on it or the owner is an impediment to it. That is almost certain. -

No doubt. And Terry probably also wants to make sure Jarmo will say "yes" to him if he wants something different and that's just not how you build or run a winning organization. The thing is people talk about how players have NTCs and don't want to come there and then they talk about the small market and the weather and that's just not it. Players and their agents are not all idiots. They know it's a badly run Mickey Mouse organization. -
Sounds like McTavish is legit available. Buffalo should certainly inquire.

Brawndo replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Actually I would. From all accounts Kevyn Adams is a terrific person ( I have a close relative who knows the family personally) and I would love to talk hockey with him. He is a terrible NHL GM though, whether that be from his lack of experience, the financial restraints he operates under or a combination of both.
