  1. Past hour
  2. These suspensions were from an agreement between the league and the PA. If there's any question about rights, I'd imagine that was addressed in the agreement as well.
  3. There is a real confusion right know on whether these guys teams still have their rights or not. It’s a complicated situation. Some young guys made bad decisions. They were judged in a court of law to be innocent. We don’t know exactly what happened and what didn’t. The judge found the woman to be unconvincing. Should the players be blackballed or given a second chance? The NHL is giving them another chance. Coach Q and Bowman got second chances. I don’t need the Sabres to sign any of them. McLeod’s brother would be the only one I would be interested in. Hart I think will have plenty of suitors.
  4. So Adams has gone from years of pencilling Levi in as the NHL goalie to now putting guys in place to keep Levi from the NHL. And I have no problem with Levi starting in the AHL again but this was not Adam’s plan 2 years ago. Shows how clueless he is. I agree with some others that this probably means someone is injured in net right now and this is an insurance plan.
  5. Hmmm. Someone isn't ready for the preseason. Because he's not an upgrade on anyone except Lyon, and Lyon is a proven backup who knows how to sit for a time and come in and give you .900.
  6. Today
  7. Yeah, still not fully getting this move. Guess Adams is thinking what better way to clear up 3 ???'s at G than by adding a 4th?
  8. If true, yikes!
  9. Kinda seems like an insurance policy against Lyon being a complete washout, understanding that Lyon himself is an insurance policy against a 2nd year of UPL crashing and burning.
  10. IDK - they’re not saying anything that isn’t already plainly obvious to Tuch and his agent IMHO.
  11. I suspect the market showed no one else was signing Georgiev to an NHL contract to be a backup, so chances are good he will clear.
  12. The way to avoid that is to not keep Levi up. They didn’t have to waive anyone in that scenario. Now they are essentially guaranteed to be waiving a veteran… unless they carry UPL, Lyon, and Georgiev, which is clearly not happening. I’m a bit surprised it didn’t happen as a PTO, but I’m really not all that concerned about it.
  13. Yesterday
  14. Can he also play as a RHD? 🙃
  15. Tough to say. Given the evidence, the judge sided with the players testimony. Here's the official transcript. https://www.canlii.org/en/on/onsc/doc/2025/2025onsc4319/2025onsc4319.html
  16. Doesn’t change the fact that Georgiev isn’t good and doesn’t really have the temperament of an AHL backup. I also kinda wonder why he signed here to be a #4? Best contract offer? Thinks the other 3 don’t offer much competition? This was definitely the last news I thought I’d be reading today.
  17. There was a time when I wanted the Sabres to acquire him from the Rangers to be their starter. But his game has really fell off over the past couple of years.
  18. Trying to avoid the initial reimer situation from last year I would imagine
  19. I mean, I guess it makes sense from the perspective of we now have 4 “NHL” goalies, which can’t be a bad thing in terms of depth. It gives us the flexibility to trade somebody if need be, and less concern in Rochester if someone gets hurt. And the depth chart works the way @Brawndo spells it out.
  20. Yep. He did say that hitting never became a part of his game because every time he touched an opponent he got called for it. IIRC he also at that time said he knows he needs to add at least some of that to his game. If he truly does feel stronger, MAYBE he'll bring it a little. He did start shooting more as last season went on, so he at a minimum gained confidence in that aspect of his own strength. (He knew he had a muffin for a shot when he came into the league which is why he so rarely tried shooting from the point as a rookie.)
  21. Stable backup for Levi in Rochester and hopefully going for it
  22. Pushing Levi for net time in Roc? Or a top tier AHL #2 cuz they are going for it?
  23. If so both should be drawn and quartered for treason
  24. Makes the most sense at this point. And guess the signing makes sense to a degree from a well, having another cheap lottery ticket never hurts point of view. But, not sure that a day old cheap lottery ticket purchase makes any sense. Yes, it only has 1 less chance of winning than that "fresh" lottery ticket has, but that 1 additional chance makes a huge difference in the value of each.
  25. It doesn't matter, just as long as we have Doan.
  26. I purposely avoided all the sordid details, but wasn’t McLeod exposed as the biggest ***** bag in the group, or am I misremembering?
