  1. Past hour
  2. But you didn't see Tuch's egregious turnover at the blue line that led to goal #2, or the keystone cop line change that led to goal #3? You just know UPL's sv% was 8-something. Okay.
  3. You don't really know what you have in goal when you endlessly stress them with sloppy play. Good teams simply don't leave their goalies hanging like we do.
  4. .590 point percentage is what gets you into that last playoff spot in the east right now (96.8 point pace). As of this moment, for the Sabres to get to that level, they have to win the next 9 in a row. 9 wins in a row and you will 'probably' be in 8th in the conference. They are tied for least points in the confernece. They have the worst point percentage in the conference. They have the worst goal differential in the conference. They have lost 4 of their last 6 and this is with them getting mostly healthy. So much for the injury excuse too. This team could be 100 percent healthy, or they could have a record number of injuries...it doesn't seem like it would matter. Either way they would/will finish 10 points out of the playoffs (at least)
  5. No, not what I am saying at all, but if that response makes you feel better about your argument, go for it.
  6. And have said it before, and at this point it really isn't a knock on Bryson, who is who he is and when not asked to do too much is actually playing well in that 7thD pressed into duty play, but want either Johnson or Novikov (or some other 7th guy that has a D-1st focus) in the lineup which does 2 things - 1 it gives Power a defensive partner to let him freewheel as much as he wants and more importantly, if Byram and Timmins aren't working, you can break Byram and Timmins up without having to take Samuelsson Dahlin apart and without giving Byram a partner he won't be able to be effective with. (If it isn't working with defensive 1st D-man Timmins, give him the other one, and let Timmins go bcak to playing with Power who did look good together earlier this year.)
  7. No shooting for the vins. Not working.
  8. If it were simply a binary choice of keep the current system or go back to no reviews at all, would likely reluctantly go to no reviews. But, it doesn't have to be all or nothing. Already said how this kid would fix the offside challenge. For goalie interference, wonder if something like adding a 2nd "crease" 18 inches (or whatever distance makes the most sense) outside the actual crease might allow them to make that a more cut and dried endeavor. ANY contact with the goalie or his equipment that is within the blue paint is goalie interference UNLESS the defenseman drove the offensive player into the blue paint OR the puck was uncovered inside the crease. If the offensive player was outside the yellow (or whatever color they choose) paint when the D made contact that drove the offensive player into the goalie then if he makes ANY effort at avoiding the goalie, it's a good goal. If that offensive player is in the yellow paint when the contact with the D begins then it's goalie interference. Simple. Might result in some plays that should've been interference to go uncalled and vice versa but its easy to implement and people will finally know again just what goalie interference is. Maybe you even enlarge the blue paint about 6" to allow for the goalie's glove being outside the blue paint when a stick or arm bumps against it impeding the movement which would bring a judgement call back into play. And you still can't intentionally check a goalie inside or outside the crease. Wouldn't that result in D-men intentionally checking F's into their goalie when he's inside that yellow paint? Well, it could. But D that start regularly breaking their goalies by running F's on top of them won't be long for this league. Just spitballin' that goalie interference idea. Hadn't really given much if any thought to how to fix that issue prior to this post. So, get to a spot where OBVIOUS missed calls are now fixed and close judgement calls are left to the refs' judgement.
  9. I am going off the game I watched the other night. They skated circles around us. Was a mismatch.
  10. Another empty net goal given up! Back into a tie with Florida with ten!
  11. Brian Koziol should get a bonus for staying upbeat yet honest in his postgame comments about the Sabres, Pegula, Adams, Ruff, the Coaching staff et al. He apologizes for sounding monotonous. Even he asks “What will it take to get change?”
  12. Today
  13. Just want to add I think it's clear Thompson is better at center for the way he likes to play so my centers are Thompson, Norris, McLeod, Kozak (because I like Kozak better than Krebs and not playing Kozak in Winnipeg was a weird decision to me)
  14. Ya gotta hand it to ka, he sure can put a team together. From the goalies out through the forwards. It's a wonder some other team hasn't poached him. Sigh...
  15. I guess I'm remembering that part incorrectly. I do remember times it was really good (like you point out), but overall I guess not. Still, the offense from about the midpoint of 2021/22 and the 2022/23 were quite fun to watch. Of course the D was atrocious and when Granato tried to emphasize that more in 2023/24 the offense dried up. I still think Granato's teams looked better coached overall, not that they were particularly good, just that it too often looks like Lindy's teams don't even practice.
  16. Because he needs to be paired with a stay at home guy, a defender first, and all we have is puck movers. Samuelsson is the closest but the only one.
  17. Personally I'd rather go back to no challenges, no replays. Just hate the refs when they screw up like we always have and keep playing mistakes and all. All this new video stuff just slows down the game and doesn't really make anybody happy. The old flawed way was better.
  18. Hoped he was going to be paired with Dahlin this year and actually look like a 4th OA pick. But Samuelsson has been so good with Dahlin, you can't break that up. And Byram just doesn't seem to click with anyone (else).
  19. And yet a couple apologists quickly came to Terry’s support and denied this (you all know who you are) happened. Tell me, do these people still think this couldn’t possibly be true?
  20. Yes, it's always this. Giveaways, turnovers, lost puck battles along with bad net front coverage. Those things lose you games even when you play half decently. My comment on the game is really just same, same. It's always the same. I don't like some of Ruff's line match ups and decisions on who plays and with who but that's nuance not even worth bothering with given the above core problem. Greenway tried to be physical at least. There was that.
  21. Should have trade him this summer.
  22. Sometimes it takes a while, but except for when he plays with Dahlin, Byram seems to have that effect on all his partners.
