  1. Past hour
  2. Mrtka assigned 57, so let the Tyler Myers comparisons begin.
  3. Don’t give them the benefit of doubt for doing something the have a decanted history of doing? They did it with Bryson last year and I just figured out the other one I couldn’t remember… Jost a couple years back. And that was a mid season addition too.
  4. Anyone else ready for some serious disappointment this off-season?? I already feel it even though I like what we got in the Jjp trade.
  5. Good decisions on small issues add up. As you well know, the Sabres don’t have much margin of error. For me, I’m not inclined to give this battered franchise the benefit of the doubt. This player is a solid lower pairing player who played well last year.
  6. I thought he was like $1.7M with arb rights?
  7. Probably Sabres call as to whether to make it a 1 way or 2 way QO. He only played 40 games this last season and only has 131 GP the last 3 years. But IF he missed at least 20 games this past year due to being on IR or a total of 49 games due to being on IR the past 3 years combined, then yes, the QO needed to be on a 1 way deal. Know he missed time in January due to a LBI suffered in practice, but don't know how many games he missed while on IR. Good call.
  8. How much you want to bet we keep Byram, and they pick up some D level forwards in FA!! KA holds a press conference we won the off-season as our defense got better and the kids will make up the goals we lost in the JJP trade
  9. I didn’t grab the tampering issue out of the blue. It was mentioned by the former French and loquacious Sabre goalie, Marty B, on his WGR hockey show.
  10. On the one hand, I agree with a lot of what is being said. On the other hand, we are talking about the sixth or seventh defenseman on a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in fourteen years. I’m pretty sure whether the streak continues will have little to nothing to do with this decision.
  11. NFL is unique. In the NHL, NBA and MLB you get haves and have-nots.
  12. Yep. No benefit of the doubt for this 14 year clown show.
  13. It’s a challenge to give this rickety organization the benefit of the doubt on anything.
  14. Fair
  15. Yeah, not sure if they're following the Bryson model of not handing out a QO to a guy or if they're following the Kahun model of not handing out a QO to a guy. Guess we'll know which it is pretty soon.
  16. The contract itself may be less in total dollars (or the same), but you know what the qualifying offer has that this hypothetical contract doesn’t? The QO is probably two way.
  17. With JBD now not qualified I think it makes lots more sense and Perbix is a big mean SOB, fits there new “style”
  18. Seems reasonable - like the Jeannot idea a lot if we can get rid of another 3rd/4th liner. Pernic doesn’t make as much sense as the last thing we need now is another RHD
  19. We are talking Pegula Sabres here and you are applying the logic of the other 31 teams. Could mean Lindy's next move is upstairs to the VP level, not out. It also looks more like a Jarmo draft, so there is also that to consider.
  20. Less than what? Jbd is basically at league minimum.
  21. I’m pretty sure Bo Byram has a Stanley Cup ring already. But more misleading stats.
  22. Veteran. Cheap. Has looked good AT TIMES. Pretty sure this describes every goalie brought in by the Sabres from the outside post-Lehner. (Not including Levi.)
  23. And it was a bad UFA pool to begin with. The list I looked at had Oloffson at 22 and skinner at 30. That’s a sad list
  24. I have shifted my predictions for July 1, Byram resigned short term Bryan Rust aquired for picks and prospect Nick Perbix signed as depth dman small chance Lafferty goes and Tanner Jeannot signs
  25. I feel like Lindy isn't a year away from retirement. I think if the team keeps improving and/or gets competitive, he'll be here long term. Speaking of which, when's that goalie signing going to happen?!!!
  26. There are several teams that are destination cities and have huge advantages over others. Parity via free agency is no longer a lock. The Sabres are at the bottom and likely never to rise to contender status again. Some of it is our own doing. But not everything is.
