  1. Past hour
  2. Most teams have Hockey Operations that consist of combinations of POHO, GM, and executive level Sr Advisors, Advisors, etc. The Sabres run and austere organization in comparison. For Example: Last season Rick Dudley was an advisor to Bill Zito in Florida. He is still there I believe and he has served in executive roles on 7 other NHL teams as well over the years.
  3. It's not just this.... what experience does Eric Staal have in an NHL front office? None? How does this improve anything? I hate everything about this hire.
  4. The funniest part is they are doing all this to try and MAKE the playoffs. Not even contend but just make the playoffs and are hoping to do it by shear luck.
  5. As WR4/5, I think he has enough of “it” to pass muster.
  6. That’s what he deserves, call it an internship.
  7. But you can’t lead the “offseason of change” with a guy who never bothered to show up to the Sabres and most of the fans despise.
  8. This is a good sign for that reason, but they can't let go of the stench from certain holdovers even hiring someone from outside the organization. Because I doubt Adams makes it. And then this individual likely takes over, albeit with factions still in place. They aren't going to hire someone with a solid record the longer those factions remain in place.
  9. He doesn’t have “it” opposing teams didn’t even bother trying to cover him
  10. If you need a senior advisor your GM sucks. Our sucks. It is not a position you learn on the fly. You must be prepared and experienced already in an NHL front office. Unreal
  11. He isn't a good player.
  12. I think I like it, but that black jersey looks ripped from the WHL.
  13. If Martin is everything the Sabres need(and don’t currently have), then move up a few spots to draft him. I don’t care that he is 3 years away, at some point they have to start acquiring hard to play against talent…especially guys who can play in the top 6 forwards or top 4 blueline.
  14. The senior advisor is Pegula with a fake moustache
  15. The only thing I can think of is Lindy and KA sold TP on a plan but said they needed help implementing it. Or TP told them they needed help. The experienced GM thing might (hopefully) indicate he/they feel a need for stronger relationships with other GMs, agents and team execs to get deals done. Again, spitballing.
  16. Today
  17. There are plenty of things about this ragged organization to get upset with. This inconsequential hire is not one of them. Whether they brought him in or not, who cares. If people find this hiring as a trigger to stoke additional anger about this backwater franchise, then I recommend that they tune out for a spell and get refreshed.
  18. If we keep reimer, maybe they can form a club?
  19. Classic (weak) executive politics and paranoia. Help/push the guy out out the door who is the biggest threat to take your job.
  20. Then they throw the tree overboard again. I remember the ending I think. I need to find that movie again, it's been 15yrs at least.
  21. It was funny for a little while but the absurdity of it makes it sad.
  22. And gets killed by a Kamikaze attack
  23. Just because you hate someone doesn't mean that particularly scorned person doesn't have something to contribute.
  24. Mostly because we all hate him
