  1. Past hour
  2. Petterssons no trade kicks in Tuesday. Could we see a move today? I look at our centers and laugh.
  3. This thread is going to get us to that 2 degrees Celsius global tipping point a whole lot faster.
  4. It doesn't matter. Like after the top 5 picks the draft is a scratch off ticket. Control, no control, it doesn't matter. The league has no reliable vision. I'd argue that a big part of the reason the predictibility is that way is because the kids aren't ready to be drafted.
  5. I wholly disagree with this. Benson on the left wing on a line with Thompson on RW, and Norris or Kulich at centre, will have one giant question mark, and it won’t be Thompson or Benson.
  6. Probably because teams want to control the development of top prospects. "Spend to the cap!" "Not like that!"
  7. That’s where he played at the end of last year and his numbers were great… Not that I don’t want to get an upgrade there but that’s who actually played the best
  8. I personally doubt that Peterka or most modern players have great issues with tough coaching. It is a misconception in my view, that the modern star athlete has been coddled by parents and coaches through their young lives. I actually think the opposite is more likely to be true and that they have been driven hard. My best guess is that Granato said things in meetings, practices, and games, that if said to us at work would have most of us calling HR. Sometimes it’s not the message but the delivery. I’m not a Ruff fan. I admire what he did as a Sabre coach a generation ago. I don’t think he is currently the right guy for this or any NHL team. He comes across as fake tough to me. I think players see through his bluster and that there is little substance there. System and structure are just slogans and catchphrases. Maybe Peterka is just a chronic pouter. For now though, when it comes to the question of where the blame lies in the erosion of a relationship between the Sabres and a young player, I see no reason to give the benefit of the doubt to Pegula or Adams. I’ve seen multiple young players who didn’t want to be here go on to better things. I’ve yet to see Pegula and Adams do the same here.
  9. I think grades are an afterthought for most schools when it comes to college athletes. $$$$>>>>>grades/classes
  10. Who is this Joe character? Joe, are you on here?
  11. The Buffalo Sabres will hold their annual Development Camp at LECOM Harborcenter from Monday, June 30 through Thursday, July 3. 12. If they’re going for one year, their grades don’t have to be in order. Some of the schools may have higher academic standards but they’ve been known to lower them for players in the past.
  13. Today
  14. Ben. He sins a lot.
  15. Running back UPL with Levi will be 15yrs no playoffs
  16. I don't really understand why the NHL doesn't move the draft age up considerably. It is hard for the average hockey fan to give a short about the full cycle of their team if they can't watch their first round pick for 3 years. It would make the sport much more compelling with better/more immediate story lines. It's a violent sport, take a page from the NFL and make it 3 years after HS. Bonus, if let's the NCAA manage a lot more of player development rather than tracking a million guys around a million leagues all over the world. Somebody might turn on an NCAA game if they know it has all the best young players in the world. There's literally no way for the average person to watch the WHL, OHL, KHL, etc if you don't actively search it out.
  17. He said in the pre-draft press conference that there were also several RHD in the system already. So looks like that is covered. Bringing in these defenceman makes its seem obvious he is trading Bo
  18. Are the twin towers of softness Tage and Power?
  19. We can go ahead and sign up all the right-handed defenseman we want. Won't matter a lick! We do not have a goaltender on the roster, especially UPL who can steal games like most modern good goaltenders can! Therefore the defense can never play the way they need to, because they know one wrong move is in the back of the net every time! Until we get serious, about the goaltender position... We're going to see groundhog's day over and over again! This organization used to be one of the premier organizations in the league with goaltending! Wake up and get rid of UPL! He is the problem... And you won't go, to where you want to go, with him!
  20. Ok, it’s 5am, I am on day 9 of a 13 day 12 hr shift run, I can drone on about what we all here are witnessing. 😂 The beefing up of the defense most certainly instantly improves this team on the ice. Many of the goals scored against us, the collapses in the 3rd periods in our own zone was due to very poor d play and very poor netminding in some cases. Yes, I haven’t forgotten about the goaltending nightmare here in Buffalo. But defense was way to soft, way to passive in our own zone, that had been corrected to an extent, and judging by our draft, looks to have been what Kyven witnessed as well. i have 0 feat of losing Peterka’s offense, this team has been top half of the league in scoring for a few years now. Defensively they’ve been literal purse swingers. I like the big bodies brought in, the violent mindset of the future d and the I believe it will be more than noticed from opening night through the entirety of the season. playoffs? Ya, I see them as a real possibility now. Address the goaltending and let’s roll!!!
  21. Calling Norris a 1C doesn’t make him one. We still have the twin towers of softness but hopefully Kesselring and Timmons can offset that. Quinn is 3W material until he’s not. We are missing a legitimate 1C, 1LW, reliable starting goalie, partner for Dahlin. Are the Sabres better? No. They are just as bad with an expected uptick in physicality. If we are hinging our hopes on Norris as 1C, Benson in the top six, Levi in the NHL, and Muel with Dahlin then we shouldn’t be surprised by the late season storm of “this team sucks” threads.
  22. As of today; NO That said, they are moving in a direction I agree with, in terms of restructuring the roster build out with diverse skill sets. BUT - goalie is an issue still. Plus our top 6 needs another playmaker. Not ready to give Benson top 6 minutes....he's still developing. If they don't solve the two issues above...this is still a low 80s point team at best. Also....reshape the f'ing coaching staff. What are we doing here???
