  1. Past hour
  2. I look forward to Sammy getting Wally Pipped by Novikov.
  3. About time we got a story about ICE actually doing the job their mission calls for. But that in no way validates the many extra-judicial actions they’ve performed since January. Things like arresting innocent US citizens, setting off explosives to enter the home of a US citizen, raiding elementary schools to round up children, riding thru parks on horseback just because, wearing masks to conceal their identity, or deporting people for MISDEMEANORS, just to name a few. I wonder how many pardoned January 6th criminals serve in their ranks? And I gotta wonder also how attractive it is to groups like the Proud Boys who get to go and round up brown people.
  4. Well it's about to happen again when Trump sets up the next set of insider trading with August tariffs. What's funny is the stock market rebounding has nothing to do with Trump.
  5. I play a par 3 course once a week with my Mother who is in her mid 80’s. I feel like a young guy on this course, definitely no scuffles even though most are slow movers. You are right that weekends are busy at most courses. My brother in law, also retired, is my playing partner and we get out whenever we want. His son and son in law want to join us but weekends are their only options so we get the dew sweeper tee times. No scuffles, we are usually first out and setting the pace. The young guys lose balls going all out for distance but we speed them up by allowing the odd foot wedge shots.
  6. I play golf. I’ve only seen a few tussles and it always seems to be younger guys and it’s happens just like this. I try not to golf on weekends and holidays - that time is for the working men and younger guys. I prefer week days, it’s less crowded and filled with old guys who say things like “it good to be on the right side of the grass” or “everyday is Saturday”. 😂 Some younger guys make golf a ritual - many drink a lot while playing, smoke cigars and sometimes weed, and if they are not serious golfers they tend to be the impatient ones who challenge others.
  7. Today
  8. Indeed, luck of the draw... this guy got the short stick... but hey, he took it upon himself... my Dad always said you are a big strong kid... most people wont push it with you... but, its the little guy in the corner... that YOU think you are gonna push it with gonna kick your a$$ lol... so I am never the type to start stuff anyways just to defend myself... so I never had a problem with the little guy in the corner... 🙂
  9. True, you never know. A much smaller guy could be MMA trained or a black belt in some discipline.
  10. Tier 2 Jr. A in Canada will suffer, many NCAA bound players used to play in the BCHL, AJHL and OJHL. Guys like Makar would now play WHL instead. Those leagues will turn into feeder leagues for the CHL.
  11. Welp if this team keeps going as it is 3500 might be a good day lol 🙂
  12. According to this data-driven ESPN, article, yes the Sabres are better. https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/45700988/which-32-nhl-teams-added-lost-most-value-offseason-three-year-gar-draft-free-agency Article concludes they are the league's 12th most-improved, but the amount of improvement is negligible. Our adds were the 8th best, but our subtractions were the 9th worst. Of the teams around us, only the Rangers declined significantly (unless you count the Leafs). and only the Canadiens made significantly improvements, followed by Boston.
  13. But even the size... and all... LOL... how unlucky that that the dude with the size was an NHL enforcer... like you just never know what you are stepping into...
  14. I agree, Thank you for the excellent list. A guy like Novikov stealing Sammys spot is exactly what this team needs, he is just the opposite of Sammy where toughness and grit are just right at the fore-front for him, so I personally cant wait to see Novikovs year this year. If Sammy gets hurt and Novikov comes up, I would not be suprised if Novikov doesnt let go of that spot
  15. That's exactly what happened in College Football. The SEC and Big10 added teams and buy all the good players. A few of the historically good schools outside of that realm will compete but everyone else is picking up scraps. The strong got stronger. There aren't enough NCAA College Hockey programs for this to work that way. Canadian Jrs and AHL will still be strong places to play. We have to remember a lot of the Canadian Jr kids won't be NCAA eligible until they are 18, 19, or 20 depending on the their schooling. It also means there are more spots in these other leagues for late bloomers to get ice. As others have said, my big concern would be USHL and NTDP.
  16. This isn’t going to create a strong NCAA. The Big10 is going to buy a bunch of players, creating a bigger talent gap.
  17. Dave won't lest his son play here?
  18. Luke Osburn is probably our best LHD prospect and might be our best D prospect outside of Mrtka. I think he makes team USA.
  19. https://thehockeywriters.com/philadelphia-flyers-should-set-sights-on-viggo-bjorck-not-gavin-mckenna-for-2026-nhl-draft/ Viggo Björck the center out of Sweden. He's good but he's short at only 5'9" so his true combine number will be important come June.
  20. Just checking in here in Mid July to see if Pegula has sold the Sabres yet…
  21. There might have been more than alcohol in his system to have him get up multiple times from being rag dolled. It looked like Benson going after Ryan Reaves type of matchup.
  22. The resources at the NCAA level are much higher than juniors. Let juniors be actual juniors and let kids develop in college like every other sport. A strong NCAA hockey league is much better for the NHL than a junior league. I'm a big proponent of taking this a step further. If a player is too young to play in the AHL, they're too young to be drafted. The only reason it's a thing is to protect the juniors leagues revenue.
  23. Sounds like Luke Osburn’s year caught the attention of USAHockey. He’s been invited to the Summer Showcase this summer, which s generally camp for the WJC team. Zeimer and Kleber, who made the team last year, will also be there.
