If every Sabre was traded tomorrow, which player or players would you really miss watching play for us?

Tage, simply because the most exciting/fun thing in hockey for me is not a great save, its not a fight, its not a good defensive battle..but rather exciting goals. He's the best on this team at that.

Other than that, at this point I don't care.

After 14 years of this not a one.

Don't get me wrong I do like several of the players currently on this team. i.e. Dahlin, Benson, Tage, Zucker, Doan, Mcleod. 

I agree with the premise I've seen stated by some of the posters here in SS that the team is not constructed properly with the balance of veteran, youth, grit, and skills players. Last that requires the proper plan and coaching for the style of players needed to win consistently and succeed in playoffs having that team balance.

 

So I happily would defer the choice of players to keep for the new experienced GM and staff he would hire that would provide the blueprint.

Aside from Dahlin, I miss Eichel and Reinhart way more than I would miss any of the slags on this current team if they were traded.

Missing these guys is like celebrating Phil Housley’s number in the rafters.

I miss Patty LaLa and Mogilny dancing around defenses.  I miss Mike Peca blasting dudes with their heads down at center ice.  I miss the 05-07 teams embodying what the league wanted to become even though they abandoned that philosophy the minute the Sabres were good at it.  I miss the Ray, May Barnaby days. I miss Ryan Miller’s consistency. He had his detractors. I was never one of them.  He always gave the Sabres a chance to win. The Sabres haven’t had consistent goaltending since his departure.  They’ve been completely forgettable since 2011.  Just no one that moves the needle at all.

We’ve had 3 guys (and still have 1) that would have been everything we ever wanted had we built properly around them, which makes it so much worse

I'm aligned. First of all, I've decided to stop watching them so I definitely don't miss any of them.

I'm not really concerned with anything with this team does at this point. It doesn't matter who is in the lineup or not. It doesn't matter to me what line a player is on. It doesn't matter to me if they trade someone or fire coaches and GMs. I don't care who they get, who they hire, not a single bit.

The only change I care about, my measuring stick, is whether they change from being out of the playoffs to being in the playoffs. This includes during the season but not until after Thanksgiving.
