The Sabres didn't play tonight, but have still had a great night. The Bruins, Red Wings, Panthers, Lightning and Flyers all lost in regulation. The Rangers got a loser point. The Habs are tied 1-1 after one. These are the huge opportunities you have to take advantage of to climb up in the standings. If we beat the Leafs tomorrow we would be ahead of the Leafs, Panthers, Senators, Bruins, Rangers, Flyers and Blue Jackets in the standings, and being tied with the Islanders for the second wild card spot (they would have a game at hand), all despite our three game losing streak to open the season. A big game early in the season! It looks like we would actually be 3rd in the Atlantic, above the wild card slots.

edit - and a big comeback from the Oilers to take down the Habs in regulation finishes off the night.

I was bummed when the Habs scored three in a row to take the lead and then didn't check the score again. It's a surprise but a welcome one.

Take advantage of the season's opportunity, Sabres. Make your own luck.

In other news, the sun rose this morning. I’m glad he got in because as stupid as it sounds, this was part of the reason why people didn’t want to vote for him.
