WildCard
@TSNBobMcKenzie Don’t be surprised if veteran NHL coach Dan Bylsma re-surfaces this week behind an NHL bench as an assistant coach. DET is the most likely landing spot.

Sabres Fan in NS
This was rumored a week ago. Well, how would Charlie and the rest of us know that if you never share? ;)
Brawndo
UPDATE: Detroit #RedWings EVP and GM Ken Holland announced today that the team has hired Dan Bylsma as an assistant coach. Details: redwn.gs/2lphjvE
darksabre
That franchise is screwed. Blashill hasn't succeeded in squeezing water from the stone and neither will Bylsma. They have no goalies, no real prospects of any kind.

He has been a garbage one since

Sabel79
Ken Holland was a great GM before the salary cap. He has been a garbage one since Funny how that works... it's almost as if the amount you're willing to spend is directly proportional to the outcome in most cases... which is demonstrated in any league for any sport without a salary cap.. (baseball and non-MLS soccer, really)
#freejame
Funny how that works... it's almost as if the amount you're willing to spend is directly proportional to the outcome in most cases... which is demonstrated in any league for any sport without a salary cap.. (baseball and non-MLS soccer, really) If the baseball season ended today, the following teams would make the playoffs (payroll rank in parentheses) Yankees (7) Astros (12) Indians (16) Red Sox (1) Mariners (11) Brewers (26) Braves (21) Diamondbacks (17) Cubs (5) Nationals (3) Six of the ten highest payrolls did not make the ten team field (60%) Now here's how the NHL playoffs looked: Lightening (1) Bruins (5) Capitals (2) Leafs (20) Penguins (12) Flyers (7) Blue Jackets (8) Devils (3) Predators (17) Jets (10) Golden Knights (6) Wild (4) Ducks (11) Sharks (13) Kings (14) Avalanche (25) Four of the sixteen highest payrolls did not make the sixteen team field (25%) Payroll seems to have a much greater effect in hockey than it does in baseball. Which makes complete sense once you think about length of team control and contract structures of the MLB compared to that of the NHL.
