  1. I'm leaning this way too now.
  2. Anyone catch Zadorov photo-bombing Deslauriers during the pregame interview? Pretty funny.
  3. Would love to get Brock Boeser with one of our "other" 1st round picks in June 2015.
  4. That's what I was getting at. The Stars would really benefit from a defenseman who can join the rush and get pucks on net. Myers can create a ton of havoc in the offensive zone and the Stars have forwards who could definitely capitalize on that. He'd benefit from the move as well (which might make us look bad if he suddenly becomes rookie-year Myers again). The Stars are 4-5-4 in a competitive Western Conference and you'd think they'd want to go all in after making the trade for Spezza.
  5. Baby On Board. Classic.
  6. Sabretooth was on Wingin' It! Buffalo Style this morning. He didn't say a word. I think the tank is getting to him.
  7. LOL. I could imagine a mob in South Park chanting that. Rabble Rabble Rabble.
  8. The title for the new Star Wars movie is Star Wars: The Force Awakens. So that's terrible.
  9. Myers to Dallas rumors on Twitter again today. His offense could do a lot for that team.
  10. Winner.
  11. Was Perrault considered the best of his generation?
  12. They didn't even trade him for that much! Where the hell were we on that one?
  13. Only if by "less silver" you mean "NO silver." It looks terrible on both teams.
  14. I denounce myself. Grigorenko was the Yakupov/Galchenyuk year. I was praying Filip Forsberg would fall to us.
  15. Where we're going we don't need eyes to see. #namethatmovie #tank
  16. Now that the Pegulas own both of Buffalo's pro sports teams (and our hearts), is there any reason they can't make "One Buffalo" a real thing aesthetically? When I was a kid, the Bills and the Sabres both had blue as their primary color. And as far as I could tell, it was the *SAME* royal blue. And that was cool because everyone had blue jackets, jerseys, t-shirts, etc., and it all basically matched. We accidentally were "One Buffalo." Then the late 90's happened. The Sabres lost their minds and switched to black, red, and silver. The Bills waited until 2002 and then they decided they wanted to be navy blue and red and silver and royal blue (and terrible). A few years, and one Banana Slug, later the Sabres moved back to their original logo (sort of) and to a midnight blue and gold. The Bills mercifully made royal blue their primary again and relegated navy blue to the outline of the numbers. Wouldn't it be cool if the two teams adopted an identical blue as their primary? And the City of Buffalo essentially adopted an official color? We already have a head start with our city flag, which is a "bright" navy blue (could easily pass for royal blue): (Yes, this would also look awesome as a shoulder patch for both teams.) This would be a really minor change for the Bills and a huge improvement for the Sabres. I'm tired of the Sabres looking like the Night's Watch on my HDTV. And it'd be cool to have our sports teams match again for the first time in ~20 years.
  17. It does for me. I remember us being dead last in the league on 1/1/2011 and checking out the early draft write-ups during the holidays. If you'd have asked me right then if I wanted to stay bottom-5 or make a mad dash to 8th place with a flawed team, I would have stayed put. A team that needed three months just to starting *trying* isn't going to contend. The roster needed major surgery way back then and we kept putting it off.
  18. I can't really explain this but it still feels better than Toronto.
  19. Just about. Remember how insane this city went when we landed Grigorenko....at no.12 overall? McDavid or Eichel would be the most hyped athlete in Buffalo since Jim Kelly arrived ~30 years ago. Actually, he's surpass that because even Kelly wasn't considered generational. Imagine Sammy Watkins multiplied by a factor of 100 and with no controversial trade to talk about. There isn't even a historical parallel to link to because Buffalo has NEVER landed a guy like that at a draft. Another reason I can't envision it happening honestly.
  20. Dear Hockey Gods, PLEASE let this kid develop an NHL body and do this in the NHL someday. Thanks, Rob
  21. It happened in Mighty Ducks 2 though.
  22. I remember saying I'd believe it would happen when it happened. Not sure I promised anything about future seasons. Last year was due to years of seeing the team "un-tank" in the 2nd half of the season so that we could draft Grigorenko instead of MacKinnon or Armia instead of Landeskog. The Sabres were consistently lousy but had just enough talent to collect points. The environment last year was finally so toxic that the latter gave out. This year is different. The coach isn't a lame duck and the veteran leaders (Gionta, Gorges, Moulson) aren't just a bunch of guys waiting to be traded (Vanek, Miller, Ott); they're here for the long haul. Stewart *is* probably waiting to be traded but he still has enough pride to challenge Lucic to a fight. [Let that part sink in. Gaustad's best friend gets concussed by Lucic and he still needed a couple weeks to muster the courage to fight him. Stewart gave it a shot just to see if it would excite his teammates.] Girgensons and Ristolainen are each a year older; Zemgus looks like he's already the captain and Risto will probably take a step forward soon as well. We're probably going to have Zadorov in the line-up the rest of the year too. For all the crap we give Myers, he's been good and so has Ennis. Our goaltending hasn't dropped off this year. Neuvirth has been stellar and Enroth has been good too. The team came out completely flat a few times to start the season but I think 2-2-2 in their last 6 is more indicative of the rest of the season. We look like we're "Bottom 10" but not "Worst Team in the League." [Yes, I know their Corsi is terrible through 14 games, but I don't think that's predictive of the remaining games necessarily.] The good news is that they're rounding into a team that will be fun to cheer for. The bad news is that ideally they'd wait another 68 games to do that.
  23. They won't *have to* bring Armia up. They could keep Larsson up. Or Schaller. Or ask the other team to throw in a Torrey Mitchell type to fill out our roster.
  24. I'm done with the tank in 68 games. I'm exhausted from rooting against my own team and I'm still not confident it's going to work anyway. A flat tire like Drew Stafford will move us up in the standings just enough to ruin it. Or Flynn. Or whoever.
  25. Well, good news, guys: The chances of us drafting a generational talent are still pretty low. And we'll be back to being a mediocre team struggling to make one-round appearances in the playoffs in no time.
