  1. MAYBE IT'S A SAMSQUANTCH MONSTER.
  2. Ha, nope. Not lost in translation. That is the joke.
  3. It doesn't make any sense. Don't start a tire fire of anti-NFL or anti-stadium sentiment in the public or political climate at this juncture. It only encourages justification in the minds of prospective owners that want to move the team. And it encourages other NFL owners that have to ratify the sale to do so in favor of a prospective owner that wants to move the team. Shut your mouth. Let the sale happen. Let the NFL owners ratify the sale to an owner that keeps the team in town. Let the owner settle in and review the budget. See if the new owner even thinks a new stadium is required. Wait until he asks for money. Then start negotiations. You'll have much stronger leverage if you're negotiating with an owner that wants to keep the team in town. He should be spouting about how much of a crime it'd be for the team to move. And how the county will do everything in their power to work with the new franchise owner for the continued success of the franchise and the economy of the county. Encourage the NFL to resent the idea of moving a historic franchise out of its home town. It's high time the County Executive sucks ######, not ###### ######.
  4. I'm a grower, not a shower.
  5. I post with my dick. Where do your posts come from?
  6. Sounds like they don't even know how it made it that far.
  7. I don't want to argue much about this, because giving Regier credit for next year's roster isn't accurate, but I do want to moderate this statement at least a little. Regier hired Devine and trained him. It also doesn't require a crystal ball to figure out the Islanders blow enough ass to give you a good draft pick- with the exception of the shortened 2012 season, they've finished bottom-five every since 2007.. (side note on Grigorenko: I don't care- no crimes committed, and he's moving forward just as the franchise is) Regier (and his moves) will have a lasting impact for a while that is simultaneous with the impact of Tim Murray's actions. Not naming names, people who give John Muckler much of the credit for building the '99 SC Finals team should be capable of thinking this way.
  8. Loser post of the year.
  9. I got my Grade 10. I got 57, which is awesome. It's the best mark I've ever gotten without cheating. So I'm really happy. I can't believe it, still. I never thought I was gonna get my Grade 10 ever in my whole life. So now I can maybe even get my Grade 11, who knows?
  10. I'm probably unforgivably late to the dance, but I started watching Trailer Park Boys on Netflix last week. Hilarious.
  11. Bills fans named drunkest in the NFL by fan that visited all 32 stadiums in 2013 The nostalgia made me a little poetic...
  12. You know the owner of the Islanders was going to make his grand exit not with a whimper, but with a Wang.
  13. Huh. http://www.nydailyne...ticle-1.1899742 Pretty scheisty. Wang offers to sell the team at an agreed price, sees the Ballmer buy the Clippers for $2B, and then jacks up the price on his franchise. Persisting report of the Islanders being sold to an "unknown group."
  14. Montreal press is trying to spin up a front office controversy on the basis of meddling. The article linked refutes that notion (rather reasonably, I think).
  15. Court case moving forward concerning the anti-competitiveness of the NHL broadcast rights. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=459001 Plaintiffs assert it's ###### to pay for Center Ice to get all teams when all you want watch is one team. They also assert ###### on paying for Center Ice and having local games blacked out, requiring purchase of other channels. Suit has potential to go class-action, which would include every customer of Center Ice. Among other evidence, the case points to evidence in 1984 documents written by former league president John Zeigler, at the time defending how the league had loosely managed its rights, stating that limiting broadcast rights would be anti-competitive. The league would soon change their methods in 1985, due to pressure from a potential ESPN contract, to manage their rights a way that is substantially similar to what Zeigler had described as anti-competitive. It's early in the process, so there's nothing much to see here yet. Also of note: NHL is defending this type of lawsuit side by side with the MLB, which faces almost identical allegations.
  16. That's the preferred acronym. We're going to trade players at the deadline for picks or prospects. The lack of roster, not the lack of effort, will make us bad enough to lose our way to Connor McEichel. We're not buyers at the deadline unless there's a long-term return that legitimately contributes to the elite team. Stewart, Stafford, Mitchell, and Meszaros are ripe for deadline deals to acquire 2015 picks or 2010-14 prospects.
  17. First round loss or just barely not making the playoffs (again) VS Connor McEichel No brainer for me, man.
  18. Montreal fans' reaction to not being #1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elFcQXtz9mw
  19. The Earl of Bud Jr.
  20. Sabres aren't famous for terrible uniforms, but the terrible Sabres uniforms are famous.
  21. It used to be two, but then Jay Feaster got fired.
  22. I don't think Devine leaves right away or this coming summer unless he gets pushed out or gets a title demotion, and I don't think that'll happen. Presume Devine has his own reasonable career interests. He either wants to keep his job or he wants to get promoted. So he either stays or he gets promoted to GM of another team. What are Devine's best chances to get hired? AFTER the demonstrated rebuild occurs, not during or immediately after the big draft. His resume will be most more impressive when the rebuild-by-draft that he has a large hand in is completed and shows signs of working, and he gets credit for immense drafting prowess. Not before.
