  1. Yep. It's true. I was exercising pretty regularly for the past couple of years - but it was just a moderate workout of about 30 minutes a day. And, eventually, I wasn't really getting the stress relief I felt I needed. So I upped the ante 3 days of the week - I go as hard as seems reasonable for my doughy sedentary ass (I mean, I don't want to pass out, or worse). The difference has been pretty remarkable.
  2. I can only recommend exhausting workouts as a potential aid.
  3. I try not to be pedantic. But when it comes to distinguishing between rappers from the 80s and 90s, I can't help myself.
  4. I won't dispute that he's become injury-prone, borderline broken. But the botched snap didn't set a tone, it created a narrative - an apparently false (or at least misleading) one. There are dozens of thoughtful posts out there on the 'net that establish that Romo, throughout his career, performed at a high or even elite level in situations where the pressure is presumably the greatest - 4th quarters, OTs, second half deficits, etc.
  5. Fast and often fun to watch, but seems so under-sized. McDermott runs a 4-3, though - right? Could be a fit.
  6. Hey - thanks kindly for doing so. Look forward to seeing more of your posts here! Also: I like the avatar.
  7. Saw it Tweetered: Physical skill sets of NHL goalies all fairly similar. The main difference between those who become reliable #1's (or better) is mental. Whether you can maintain a level, come to each game with a fresh and new focus, etc. Makes sense. Oh, the writer (Davis?) also added that Lehner's now shown he _can_ do it, now it's a question of whether he will, over time.
  8. (occurs to me: you're totally the hoff there.)
  9. Ah, gotcha. Not statistically significant, or something like that. Well - maybe. I'll take what I can get though: The comeback kids! Interesting.
  10. I was recently the glad recipient of a 4-can-pack of Big Ditch's Deep Cut (double IPA). It was not what I expected out of an imperial. The profile is not all that bold. Not a lot of bitterness (which I often enjoy out of imperials). The mouth feel (sorry - a term I sorta despise) not all that syrupy. Maybe even some distinct maltiness? Anyway. It was just a really well-balanced beer. One that manages to carve out a niche in a crowded field. I liked it quite a lot.
  11. As someone who used to bad mouth the guy based on such anecdotal reports, and has since chewed over those stats: Word.
  12. It indicates at least two things to me: (1) The need to secure more leads or tied scores headed into the third (playing better in the second, maybe, for starters) and (2) the team's ability to surmount third-period deficits (which is a good thing, for a host of reasons). It strikes me as a weird take to say that having a lot of third period comebacks is indicative of nothing.
  13. Frickin' brilliant. Habs for the Cup! Hopefully, they will play Boston in the playoffs.
  14. I know that's received wisdom. And yet - the Patriots. An exception that proves the rule?
  15. well, yeah - there is that. Yeah? Maybe it's been his injuries, but - has he been useful? Good?
