Having said that: I went to the Blues game (best 60 minutes of the season for the team, I'd heard (and tend to agree)) and, while Jack didn't score (I don't think he did?)), he made a move on the rush that was so spectacular that it was worth the price of admission, as they say. The moments are often there, if you want to see them. Or, you can go another route. I have enough going on IRL that invites (and sometimes imposes) negative feelings. I'm going to have fun with hockey, even if the season has disappointed. Hockey is fun!

And also, Arizona does kinda suck. The Sabres should get a bump from starting two d-men for whom the GM publicly said he couldn't get a bag of pucks at yesterday's trade deadline. Also: Will we see the debut of Mat "not Matt" Bodie? That ALONE is reason to tune in. Let's Go Buffalo!

That's what I saw too. And even the contest in the neutral zone seemed tepid. I know this team gets out-possessed on the regular, but the utter passivity they show with a late lead is something that can't be denied.

Maybe it's punitive - not putting Sam at centre. For not sufficiently playing the system (?). That's the only reason I could understand putting him on 3rd line wing.

This is where I'm at. Nothing wrong with grabbing a fistful of jersey and getting the kid away from your bench. But there was a bit of sledgehammer-on-a-fly there. If I thought he were a better guy, I'd be inclined to say "honest mistake" and give him a pass.

I worked as a substitute teacher in an urban school district for a while, back in the day. On three separate occasions, I shoved/pushed kids who were involved, or were about to be involved in a dust-up. I'd like to think I acted appropriately. I think that's what Peters is going to say he did here. Looking at the footage, I'm just not so sure whether he ended up acting appropriately.
