Olofsson Out 5 to 6 Weeks with a Lower Body Injury.

Damn. Sounds like a high ankle? Welp. Not as bad as it could have been, I suppose. -
Welcome back. I certainly recall you as a regular. I have only a dim recollection of you're getting ban-hammered. Thanks for sharing what you did in your return. I'm glad to hear that you're on a better path. We all need mercy and healing.

All fair. Although none of those guys were chosen on JBOT's watch. And at least he turned the lesser Nylander into a young, nifty d-man who should be good going forward. Good post. Fair points, all. It really has been the player's development that has just stunk out loud.

Having a big swing and miss on Mittelstadt is a significant mark against Botterill. It's also high on the list of reasons why the Sabres are (still) a mediocre-to-bad team.
-
I never fail to forget those facts. I'll post that photo again in 2 years and, by then, will have forgotten that it's not Stafford and Pominville holding Roy.
-
Thanks. Now I have that Tik Tok meme/song stuck in my head. C'mon. These are somehow now halcyon days.
-
Yowza. How's that for perspective? Where have you gone, Derek Roy? Sabres nation turns its lonely eyes to your sausage. Also: Let's go, Buffalo. Because, what else?
-
Where? Not in this thread.

Let's Go, Buffalo. Ooh! Ah! And so on. Make it a Merry Christmas break, Sah-brays. -
Where to stay after a concert in Orchard Park
That Aud Smell replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
yeah - there's nowhere nearby that's worth staying. (which, come to think of it, is sorta weird?) you're much better off getting a place you like at a good rate and then using a ride share service. -
Given how he talked about it -- as something he'd been grinding through but could not in Philly -- and further given its designation as a UBI (which I do think can be accepted at face value), I think the theories upthread about it being back spasms/rib contusion(s) make perfect sense.

I've seen the vids. @SwampD can fookin' shred.

GDT Dec 17 2019 Sabres @ Leafs. 7pm ET. NBCSN
That Aud Smell replied to steveoath's topic in The Aud Club
The Leafs are, for sure, a more talented squad than the Sabres. Matthews, Tavares, Nylander, Marner ... sheesh. -
Not sure of its merits on its own, but this one still has the power to make me feel (at least a bit) like a kid again.

Christmas in Hollis is firmly in my top-10 of winter holiday songs.
-
I mean, it's music. Taste is inherently and stubbornly personal. There's really no objective greatness (outside of truly transcendent artists, I guess?). If you don't like it, you don't like it. Leave it there, leave it at that. Griping about how you somehow can't like the song because others like it so much is ... well, it's not a good take.

And, on a more personal level, this guy's an old friend from what seems like another lifetime. He's originally from Vancouver, and spent a big chunk of time in L.A. (which is where the song was made, obvi), but now lives in Nashville (and supports the Predators). If you listen carefully to the lyrics, I guarantee your hockey sensibilities will be pleased. Just a terrific singer/songwriter (And producer).
-
This is it. Full stop. And I generally don't entertain a debate on the topic. For me, there's a level of sorrow or sombreness that, for me, makes a Christmas song special. I'd never focused on that - good call. Probably because his phrasing of "kiss her" always just delights me so. What a performance.

This is fascinating.

I love it. I posit that Buffalo’s never had a pro athlete with White’s combination of on-field excellence and charisma/personality. He’s well on his way to being my 2nd favourite Bill ever (Thurm’s always gonna be #1).
