No one ever said this was gonna be easy. However, BUF has an easy schedule to close out Feb. They'll solidify their roster come March 2nd by moving Stewart and Neuvirth as they make a run for The Shart. I'm feeling a Shart Fever coming on... Who's with me!?

Neuvirth will be gone in 10 days.

Like the NHL, in the CHL you can only "gain" points by playing a game. So game's in hand is a good thing... it's just that you want the team to win instead of lose those game's in hand. Or lose instead of win, not sure, yeah that it's.... you want the team to lose, no wait... you want them to win instead of.... awwww it.

If they have nothing to hide, then televise the process, or atleast make it available on their site to watch after the fact. We know they pick 4-5 balls to get a number, but I want to see the number-to-team chart BEFORE the balls are selected. Imagine the drama as the balls come up.... first ball... "Still in it!"... second ball.... "Yes, still alive!".... third ball "".

http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/Eastern/Atlantic/Buffalo.html 0.0002% chance at this point. If they go 25-0, they have a 2% of getting the final WC spot. With 25 games left they can finish at most with at most 86 points. Boston is at 65 points currently. So that's a 21 point differential, or about 11 games. I'll say they're eliminated after 7 more games, which is around March 6th. The Buffalo Sabres will be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs after games are complete on March 6th.... final answer.

It really bothers me that the NHL draft lottery draw isn't made public. Who really knows what they're doing behind closed doors.

Nice OT loss for BP Oil. BUF at PHI tomorrow... Then its NYR, NSH, CBJ, VAN, FLA. Could be a nifty winning streak to close out Feb. Every point is huge as EDM has an extremely weak schedule coming up against CHL bottom feeders.

Bag of cheap double edge plastic razors from Walmart lasts me a year. If you dry the blade after each use they will last a long time, 15-20 shaves per razor and I can grow a full beard. Save a ton of money doing this.

No doubt he gets moved. He's an UFA trying to play his way into a nice contract for next season. Prolly don't get more than a 3rd for him but a rotation of Lindback and Hackett down the stretch will ease my mind.

Interesting, thanks for that. Looking at the Sabres' remaining schedule I'm having trouble finding 8 losses in there. TOR, ARI, NJD, CAR maybe? I could see them losing maybe 5 games from here on out.

...and it sounds like Enroth is half-way out the door already. Once he's gone, this team might not lose another game the rest of the season. Put a bow on The Shart.

I'm calling BS on all of this.

You think he beats out Pysyk next year in training camp? I don't. Zadorov is still only 19. He's playing OK because he can keep up physically, but his game is mistake prone and lackadaisical at times. He'll be much better off having a longer leash in the AHL, playing 30min a game, PP and PK, instead of getting 15-20min/game in the NHL. Pysyk will be well seasoned and I expect him to have a big role with the Sabres next season. I expect McCabe to be more NHL ready by then as well... maybe even Ruhwedel. That said, with all the wheeling and dealing that's around the corner and probably at draft time, all bets are off!

The Yotes are defying all odds and losing to inferior opponents. I think they're the team to watch down the stretch since they admitted to be in full tank mode several weeks ago. However, Mike Smith is playing so poorly of late they're losing to terrible teams like CHI and MTL on the road no less. The more losses they can pile up now the better. However, they have an easy stretch of games coming up, STL, SJ, NYR, COL, TB, while BUF has some tough matchups against PHI (twice) and NJ. I expect the 12 point gap to close to maybe 5 or 6 by the end of the month. That said, if BUF has a lead of any kind heading into MAR, this thing is over. BUF plays 9 of 13 on the road, while ARI starts the month with 6 straight home games and plays only 4 on the road in MAR.

Zadorov doesn't belong in the NHL this year, and it's safe to assume he'll star next season in Rochester. There's still a lot he has to learn about the pro game and while he's physically ready, he needs to be playing 30min a game in the AHL to learn all the nuances of the pro game. I'd like to see him stay in Roch for the entire 15-16 season and then perhaps get a serious look in 2016-17.

I've said it before and I'll day it again. Feb is a tough month. EDM on the road and BUF at home against some CHL powerhouses. But March, oh boy, just wait until March. Whay are ye so fearful, O Ye of little faith?

You never like to see injuries, but if I'm GMTM I tell the troops to take pucks hard to the net and run over Halak every chance they get on Sunday.

The Canadian accent drives me nuts. Buffalo is not a canadian team.... and his "Scoooorressss" is like nails on a chalk board. Luckily I live out of town with center ice I watch the opposition broadcast unless RJ is on.

I like it. I'm not a fan of Doc Emrick. Would be nice to listen to Barry Melrose and Jojn Buccigross again.
