Most goalies play their best when facing a steady barrage of shots. It's easy to stay focused, engaged and loose. That said, does Lehner have the mental capacity to stay sharp when seeing half the shots he's getting now? I'm not sure there's any reliable way to make that prediction until he's put in that situation.... and with the current team in front of him, it may be a while before he faces that challenge.

You always play man to man in 3-on-3... Tarasenko was Eichel's responsibility.... poor gap control combined with late recognition and Eichel was doomed. Yeah, I think he'll get there but it might be a few more years before he improves his emotional maturity... maybe then he'll finally get the captaincy.

Eichel is severely immature... much more so than you'd expect from an average 21 year old. His body language, post game interviews, etc... is what you would expect from a 15-16 year old. He has a lot of growing up to do.

He's not the problem right now. Let's see how he performs when facing 20-25 shots/gm vs 45-50. There's no way to know right now.

Spot on. That's a young player mistake. He'll learn from it... assuming he puts the effort in to correct these things... who knows. Housley keeps referring to "preparation"... this is what he's talking about.... players taking that extra time to watch video, correct mistakes, pre-scouting, etc.. For example, in the Chicago post-game interview Eichel made it sound like he didn't know where to go with his penalty shot and was trying to get ideas from guys on the bench. That's poor preparation on his part. There is plenty of video available on Crawford, there is no excuse for not knowing where to attack him or any other goalie in the league.

It wasn't on Risto, although the shouldn't have waved at the puck. He was following his man across the net front. Lehner needs a way to pick those picks up I traffic. He's terrible at it.

He never has good games either. He's just there. Have you ever seen him make a slick pass for a goal? Or how about snap one in from the high slot? He reminds me of Christian Ruuttu, but with less offensive skill and worse defeninsevirly

You know what his sv% was on muffins from the point on the ice with 5s left in over time? .000 ..and that's all that matters.
