I'd say that's fair. Why is that a joke?

In years past they would lose this game.... start slow at home, go down 3-1 or 4-1 then rally late with 10 min left only to come up 1 or 2 short. This game will tell us if they've actually turned a corner this year or if the last two games were simply fools gold.

It worked! Haha

Honestly I couldn't make it through your entire thesis.... But I will say this. They finished last the season prior, added a bunch of new faces, and then cancel a scheduled practice 2 days before opening night. They're not tired, the season hasn't even started. They didn't do anything to earn the day off... they're the worst team in the league. They're not on a grueling 10 day road trip. Would they have won if they practiced? We'll never know, but it's foolish not to think they would've been better prepared if they did.
-
Well it certainly would've helped their chances. Or are you suggesting that practing would've made them worse?

Lehner pitching a shutout through 2 periods, 26 saves.

I'm not going to waste my time arguing this. There is no benefit weeks after.... that's like saying "good thing they skipped practice 25 years ago, otherwise they probably would lost that game tonight." Cancelling practice 2 days before opening night, and then playing like crap is all the evidence we need. Stop being a moron.
-
I'm just glad they're practicing, and not goofing off like they did a few weeks ago before getting walloped by the Bruins.
-
In 15-16 BUF lost their opening night game 3-1 to OTT. This year they lose 4-0 to BOS. So that's a combined 7-1 loss on opening day after cancelling practice. If they prepared correctly, they probably would be 6-3 right now, leading the division instead of on the wildcard bubble. In 15-16' they probably make the playoffs and win the Cup.

Still think he's too soft. That said, I'm happy to see he has a sense of urgency.

What are your Sabres Powerball/Megamillions numbers?

Imagine all the money well save in taxe's by not winning! -

At what point would it make financial sense to buy half the possible combinations + 1? The pot is what 1.6B? There are 11,238,513 combinations... if you bought half the combinations at $2 per combination, that's an investment of $11,238,513.00. Then by one extra ticket to put the odds in your favor, and you could make a profit of $1.58B. -
IIRC, they had 28 one goal losses last season. That is, the number of times were trailing by one goal late in the game and lost. Wether or not the opposing team scores into the empty net, as time is running out, is irrelevant when considering how close the game actually was.

When does Ullmark start? The next back to back isn't until early Nov. He deserves a game here soon.

I've seen both play, extensively. Jordan was doing things nobody else was doing at the time. LeBron is a better natural athlete, but not as creative as Jordan was. P.S. - these arguments about who is better are dumb IMO. One doesn't have to be better than the other. They're both generational players, why can't they just both be great, each better than the other at certain aspects of the game. A better discussion to have would be to argue specifics... who was the better defender one-on-one? Who was the better free throw shooting? Three point shooter? Who was quicker? Who was more creative? Who was stronger? Who was more clutch in pressure situations? etc.. But to just come out and say "This guy is better than that guy" is just being ignorant and disrespectful to the game.

Who Will Have a Better Season - Bills or Sabres?

Bills passing touchdowns this season, or.... the population of Pominville? -
right, I'm not counting ENGs.

It's going to flip back to run and stop the run. Passing is at it's peak. Defenses are currently very light up front and drafting lean lanky LBs that can cover. Some team is going to come along that just pounds the ball with a big physical OL and RB, and they won't be stopped, then the rest of the league will need to adjust.
-
If they want to be taken seriously as a playoff contender, then they need to beat teams like Montreal, especially at home. Last year at this time their record in one goal games was 2-4. This year at they're 2-0 in one goal games.

Two mice fell into a bucket of cream. After analyzing the situation and realizing it was hopeless, one mouse simply gave up and drown. The other mouse swam so hard for so long that he churned that cream into butter and climbed out of the bucket. Which mouse are you?

Thompson sent down yet? What are they waiting for? I've been clamoring for Larsson and Girgenson to be moved out but they're good at killing penalties (for the last two games anyway). But not sure that ability alone deserves a roster spot (these guys simply cannot score). You would hope they could find somebody with those same PK skills who can score 10-15g.

Cooper is light years better than Gordon plus no off field issues makes a huge difference. Cooper is a stud who was stuck in a bad situation in Oakland.

Who does he think he is? Matt Donovan?!?!?!?
