  1. It's pretty bad. Mostly just a revolving door that has prevented any real chemistry with the full team from developing at all. One comes back, two go out. Two come back, three go out. Just nonstop all year long.
  2. SMH...if we didn't have bad luck this season with injuries we would have none at all. Just a constant rotating door...one comes back, two go out. Two come back, three go out. It's ridiculous.
  3. In many cases it was because they way overhired during the pandemic when there was free money floating around to keep people working or hiring new ones. Then when the economy slowed down due to inflation and rising interest rates, the companies started cutting people who literally were doing nothing, or at least had very little work to do. In some cases, they were hired to keep them away from the competition. First round of cuts was mostly directed towards that. Second round of cuts can be somewhat attributed to AI, but most people don't have a good understanding of how or what AI does for a software engineer. It can help you, but it can't do your job for you. It is very helpful for generic boilerplate code, unit tests and documentation. Not so great at the finer details that require you to actually know how you plan on implementing things in the application. As I often say, if you were driving cross country, it would be great giving you the directions to get to the city you are going to, but once you get there it's not good at telling you how to get to the various landmarks in the city.
  4. The dude is 18...pretty sure he will gain strength thru at least 21 or 22, so I think you'd want to revisit this at that point. Time to get those squats and deadlifts going in the gym...
  5. These decisions are not made in February, they are made in April or May.
  6. Why do I get the feeling we are going to go from having no goalies for 12 years to having 2 goalies? Ullmark was kinda good here but he also was also injured for 6 weeks at a time twice a year too
  7. UPL has a 2.39 GAA and save percentage of .914 with 3 SOs in his last 20 games. That's tied for 9th best save percentage over those many games with Bobrovsky and 7th best GAA. Tied for 2nd in SO's with Tristan Jarry and Thatcher Demko. We wanted to see a consistent stretch of good hockey and we have gotten it. Sadly he is only 9-10-1 over that time since the Sabres can't score except sporadically. In comparison, Thatcher Demko has posted a .917 and 2.43 with 3 SOs as well and is 17-2-1. Remember when we said all we needed was better goaltending? Well, we got it and the results haven't changed much. He is turning into a real one tho...Levi might not be playing much anytime soon.
  8. Seems a little disingenuous to term this "week to week" when Granato said he'll be out a week, maybe two. Week to week to me denotes something like 4-5 weeks.
  9. UPL turning into a real one...
  10. I've been feeling very melancholy about this team lately.
  11. Adams isn't the coach.
  12. That 8-12 inches will probably shut them down for a few days hahahaha
  13. We had Bylsma who won a Stanley Cup...does it really matter?
  14. Another game with tons of chances and one goal. WTF is wrong with this team?
  15. It is...and there is a reason men's and women's sports are separated after the age of 11 or 12. People can believe whatever they want to believe. The real world doesn't care about that and neither does physics. I could "believe" that I could jump off a 10 story building or walk in front of a moving train and survive without any injuries. I would be dead wrong, literally, but I could believe it if I wanted to. Believing something that simply logically and scientifically isn't true is a sign of delusion, which is where a lot of these women's rights people come off. I'm not saying she shouldn't play, but she can always go play in a woman's league or a coed league.
  16. Just bullcrap. Sabres were the much better team tonight.
  17. C'mon now...2 straight 5 on 3s for the Stars and 4 straight penalties against the Sabres late in the game?
  18. And? This is pretty mild. Actual professionals have dealt with far far worse. None of them cried to my knowledge.
  19. Sabres are kicking the Stars @ss everywhere except where it counts.
  20. C'mon man...we are getting shot after shot and they get some garbage goal. SMFH
  21. Then what is she crying about? If you can't physically take being checked then don't play. I played indoor soccer and flag football for quite a while. I cannot tell you the number of times I got slammed into the boards in soccer or tackled in football. Did I sit around crying about it? No... it's one of those things that is technically not supposed to happen but realistically you know it's going to happen just in the course of people competing. We're there some jackasses that went out of their way to do so? Yeah, of course. There are those idiots in every league. They are usually no skill goons who know being physical is the only way they can really contribute. If you can't accept that then don't play. It's simple.
  22. You would think with as many shots as they throw at these goalies we would get some crazy deflection or bounce off a skate like happens against us all too frequently, but it never seems to happen for us...
