  1. Hopefully this will improve since he is one of the few players who actually plays with a chip on his shoulder.
  2. I would let me get some additional work in and not rush him back. Better to focus on clearing pucks out of your own end and winning face offs -- how hard can this be?
  3. Watched first season of Tulsa King and enjoyed it. Also watched Master Gardener (Paul Schrader) on Hulu and though quite dark, enjoyed it. By the way, if you haven't yet watched Season 1 of Silo on Apple TV, please make sure you don't miss it.
  4. St Louis was constantly around the net and we weren't. And they were not sloppy when they were there. Its still maddening that we can't clear shots in our zone, even by defensemen. We look like the better team, but they were the gritty, better coached team.
  5. There doesn't seem to be any accountability on the players. McDermott may be a dick, but he will sit players who are underperforming or making mistakes (i.e. Cook). Don't see Granato doing this. They also really need to get some more veterans in here who can budge some of these players out of their stupor.
  6. Its coaching. Get rid of these amateurs and bring in a real staff.
  7. Well said. Enough babying the players and not trying to hurt any feelings. The fact that they want to be here is not good enough -- they have to act like they want to be here. And bring in some real assistant coaches.
  8. Holding on to him this long has probably cost us 2 games in the standings. Finally an intelligent decision.
  9. I live on Long Island and watched the MSG feed. All their analysts chalked it up to a bad night for the Rangers. Maybe, but the way the Sabres were playing, they could have beaten the vast majority of teams.
  10. Yes, youth is a factor, but look at the Baltimore Orioles. It took 2 seasons for them to gel (one of the youngest teams in the league), but in the third season, they were one of the best. Not sure I am seeing this on the Sabres.
  11. This team is maddening and you can't just blame it on youth. Something with the coaching is not getting through. They immediately need to bring someone in (another coach) to fix the power play and face-offs. This would already be a big step in the right direction. However, how do they get these players to maintain focus and play like they did yesterday.
  12. For me, Levy’s size is an issue. Leaves more of the goal exposed and worried that all the contortions he has to go through will make him more injury prone. He needs to be sent down.
  13. The feelgood style rarely works. Dusty Baker might be an exception, but he has great authority based on his history. Not working so well for Aaron Boone of the Yankees. Young player need room to grow, but also discipline and expectations. Not seeing this from Granato and his truly putrid staff (Matty Ellis looks like someone looking for directions on a map and has no idea how to use a navigator).
  14. A very tough game to watch. I stopped after the first period. The Sabres looked slow, unmotivated and unprepared. This is all coaching. No effort, intense sloppiness and no hockey-sense. Please get real management and an experienced coach in here.
  15. I live on Long Island and am watching on the Devil’s MSG. Is there anyone who is more of a homer than Erika Wachter. Is she annoying!! Pure NHL network
  16. In his current state he is ineffective and a detriment. He clearly has vision problems which are slowing him down—it seems like he is checking himself and uncomfortable.
  17. This team is too hit or miss -- mainly miss. Typically look unprepared and take too long to get into the swing of things. This is coaching. When you look at a team like Colorado or the Rangers, look at how disciplined they look. We look like slackers. This coach has served his purpose, but its time to move on. Enough of the holding of prospects. All winning teams use prospects to gain better players and only hold onto those who truly serve a purpose. We need some grit and some leaders, both players and coaches. Much of the talent is there, but we need some grit. Look at the Knicks for a good example of this.
  18. Agree, there has never been a bad Bourne movie. Even enjoyed the one with Jeremy Renner. Really enjoyed the first 3 mission impossible movies. After that, hit or miss. Loved all the Sean Connery Bond movies as well as the Daniel Craig ones. Heard rumors that Idris Elba (Luther) may be the next Bond, but who knows. My favorite Bond movies were From Russia with Love and Casino Royale.
  19. Also saw "The Killer" on Netflix. Its a David Fincher movie. It was interesting but not sure I liked it. Sorry that the David Fincher series Mindhunters as not renewed. Really enjoyed that.
  20. Just saw the latest Mission Impossible. It was OK, but nowhere near as good as the last one. Kind of boring at times
  21. Would rather watch CSPAN repeats. Hope its the MSG feed. The NHL Network announcers are beyond brutal.
  22. As I mentioned before I am also a Knicks and Yankees fan. In the case of the Knicks and Rangers, which are both owned by MSG I find it interesting that ownership can be so clueless (until recently) and have one really well run organization (The Rangers) and one organization, until recently, that has been a joke (similar to Bills and Sabres, though I feel the Rangers are better run than the Bills). Dolan basically knows nothing about hockey and has entrusted the Rangers to very good people. He thought he knew something about basketball and until he hired Leonard Rose, the knicks were a joke. Like Pegula, he hired mostly yes men (or incompetents) to run the Knicks and we all saw the end result. Now I actually enjoy watching the knicks. While there are other teams with more talent, they are tough and gritty and rarely out of a game. Like Adams, Rose keeps accumulating top draft picks, but unlike Adams, Rose will eventually pull the trigger when the right player is available. Unlike Adams, he has brought in tough, savvy veterans to help the Rookies and fill out the roster. Hope the Sabres can do this eventually.
  23. I share your feelings about the Yankees front office. Some parallels with Sabres mess -- an owner who doesn't have the will to do the right thing and get rid of current management. More optimistic about the Yankees than the Sabres given the cache of the organization.
  24. I feel the Sabres could learn from the Knicks. The team has arguable only one superstar (Brunson), but has a lot of complementary parts that reflect the coach's no-nonsense, play hard philosophy. Unlike the Sabres, they are a team who have each others' backs and typically give maximal effort. I wish I could say this about the sabres. Also, the knicks have brought in savvy veterans (Hart, Hartenstein) who know their role on the team. Makes a big difference.
  25. I am a Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, New York Yankees and New York Knicks fan. A little background: I grew up in the Bronx and was taken to a number of Yankee games by my father, but really got into the Yankees during the Jeter/Mariano era. Ditto with the Knicks, but became a fan during the era of the Championship team (Frazier, Bradley, etc.). I went to graduate school in Buffalo and following graduation accepted a number of jobs there. I met my wife (who is from Long Island) there and she had a job where she got a lot of freebies, including Bills and Sabres tickets. I remember the first Bills game I saw (where they weren't good) but was impressed by how huge Earl Campbell was. I became hooked during the Kelly era and have watched ever since. I moved back to New York City in the late eighties and have watched the Bills whenever I could. NFL Sunday was a dream come true to me. I became much more involved with the sabres the last few years (although I have very fond memories of the Hassek era) and now watch the games primarily on Hulu. I don't hate any of the other New York team -- I just have zero interest in them. Does anyone else have a story they would like to share?
