The other day Granato was asked about Krebs and he gave a cryptic answer about there is more to come. Any idea what he is referring to?

Idris Elba is rumored to be the next James Bond. The Pledge (Jack Nicholson) An older movie but very good. Poker Face (TV series on Peacock). Watched but didn't think it was very good. Felt it was kind of one note and don't understand the fuss about Natasha Lyonne. Give me the old Columbo series anyday if you like this genre. If you want to watch a really good and well acted series, watch Perry Mason Season II on HBO. Top notch acting and storyline. By the way, I hear there will be a season 3 of the Warriors (based on Bruce Lee's writings) on HBO. Enjoyed seasons 1 an 2, so looking forward to this.

You can always move Granato management and make him Director of Player development (or some title like this). And get a real manager -- no Mr. nice guy like Aaron Boone, but someone like Buck Showalter.

I always find it interesting that owners of multiple teams rarely have success with both of them. Look at Jim Dolan -- he owns the Knicks and The Rangers. The Knicks have been a horror show until recently, while the Rangers have been well-run for multiple years. And the Pegulas -- the Bills are overall a good organization while the Sabres are embarrassing.

Have they ever hired an outside consultant with real knowledge to get an overall assessment of the organization. I know that this has been done a number of times in football. Companies do this all the time, and maybe it would give them some insight.

I too find them unwatchable. They look defeated and uncompetitive. Is that youth or coaching? I find myself spending more time watching The Knicks, who seems really competitive and looking forward to baseball beginning. A shame.

I am relatively new to this but not sure why the Pegulas are so reluctant to spend money on the Sabres, especially since they appear to be showing some positive signs. I am a big Bills fans and certainly don't see any reluctance to spend there. I thought Terry was a big hockey fan and was dying to buy the Sabres. Even if they have shown a losing past, why not put money into the team to improve it?

I agree. I also think Kevin Adams made a big mistake not bringing in reinforcements for his team before the trade deadline. He was afraid of mortgaging the future. However, creating bad morale and a hopeless sense like he has now is mortgaging the future. I remember before the trade deadline last year people were talking about the Yankees not mortgaging their future in order to get immediate help. Michael Kay said he didn't understand this way of thinking. In his mind a prospect is just a prospect -- a hope for the future. Very few prospects make it to become successful major league players. If you find the right major league player, you should definitely trade prospects because it will help your team now and in the future.

I live in Long Island and get the watch the Rangers, Devils and Islanders. When I look at the Rangers bench, they look like a championship team, with a certain amount of swagger. While maturity is certainly a factor, as well as past success, by comparison, when you look at the Sabres bench during a game, they do look very young, and a little bit like a dear in headlights. Hoping that another year of experience will change this, but I also feel they need a more fiery leadership and someone to get in peoples faces -- a little like Josh Allen and Jalen Brunson of the Knicks. The coach seems too much like a gentleman, and needs to show a little more fire.

It all started in the first period. The Sabres looked slow as molasses. For every skate taken, there was a Flyer on top of them. To me it looked over in the first period -- no adjustments, nothing to counter what the Flyers were doing. When I think of teams on the verge, I look no further than the '95 Yankees. They seemed to make progress throughout the end of the year and you had little doubt they were on the verge of something. I haven't seen this yet from this Sabres team. Certainly, good goal-tending would take them further (I know I can't hope for Mariano Rivera, but at least some improvement here).
