All a long way off but that's what the draft is for. 2-4 years of development and hoping a few hit down the road. Not a big fan of overpaying in FA so I hope a couple trades can happen. Opener still 13-14 weeks away so I get to read the ususal panic stricken posters freaking out daily until moves are made.

Some are always promoting one of the young guys. Now a spot is open. Camp may be big for one of them to grab a spot.

Need them now...not in 3 years.

Jesus.. Race driver Jmmie Johnsons in-laws and thier grandson were found shot dead. ESPN saying his mother in-law shot her husband and grandchild, then turned the gun on herself. How horrible...WTF ?

He grew on me as the year progressed. He still whiffs on a lot of opportunities. Seems to be fighting himself quite often. Yet he hustles and does keep plays alive that eventually led to a few goals, which what saves him with me. He just can't seem to finish opportunities when he has the clear shot. Shoots it over the net and wide point blank many times. Loses poise in the moment of shooting. I guess if he can set up guys he's OK but he needs to relax in the moment more often.

I believe KA is looking at G but may indeed fall back to the 3 G idea again without reaching in a trade or overpaying in FA. D is a FAR bigger priority. 1-2 Vets. The team as a whole needs to learn how to play D in front of their G. I'd actually be a bit surprised to see another forward added.

Owner can still fire them any time he wants. Just has to pay them off. The contracts aren't prison terms. Shows stabilty to prospective FA's going forward. While the draft is a gamble, Beane has attacked FA to keep the team strong. Previous GM's took vacations or took naps when FA started. It's not just the draft anymore. McDermott will take the heat if they fail but let's see how this current team plays first.

D is far more important. I would like another G but no rentals for tons of compensation. JMO.
