I was listening to Dropping the Gloves today & John Scott said that Rob told him this was his last season. They spoke during the Catwalk For Charity event in April. Ray has grown on me during the television broadcasts. If this is true, I will miss him. If Rayzor is done, which ex-Sabre do we want in the booth?

I know you’re not sleeping on Östlund, but the board should know he had a great year and has solidified himself as a top prospect. We really didn’t know what to expect other than he had a terrific world junior once and very little experience on North American rink sizes. I think he will lead the Amerks in points next year and has already proven he’s more than steady in their defensive structure. We’re also starting to see some of his silky hands now that he’s healthy & more adjusted to the size of the league and size of the ice. He’s needs to work on strength training and the on-ice assertiveness will continue to develop. He put up 19G 17A 36 pts in 45 games and a +20 as a rookie. If I may average this out for a full season of production, here’s how that stacks against another winger who had to make the same adjustments to North America in his first year at the same age: Östlund (projected): 30G 27A 57 PTS in 72 GP, actual +\- is +20 Peterka: 28G 40A 68 PTS in 70 GP, +\- was -3 Exceeding JJ’s average goals per game is a really good sign.

It’s because when he was expected to grow into passing option two from his role of passing option four, but it didn’t work out during his last year in Buffalo. But he’s well liked among his teammates and the fan base. He’s just not a WR2 is all.

I agree with this assessment after 24-25, but I think Power’s ceiling is higher. Is Dobson going to A) cost less than Byram, and B) different than Power? His PPG is slightly less, but is he a huge defensive upgrade where it makes perfect sense?

Brandon was a lot more relaxed today. My take on the WGR convo is that everyone was correct in the conversation. Beane is correct that the Bills have a unicorn QB who drives the offense to 30 pt games, the D needed improvement, and there’s only one ball. Only so much cap dollars to go around and Josh throws people open anyway. If the radio guys were insinuating that Beane doesn’t value the position, that is wrong to me. They traded a first for Diggs and paid him, they used their top pick on WR last year, traded for Cooper, traded for Kelvin Benjamin once upon a time. But at the same time, the radio guys are correct that the Bills WR room is weaker than most. With that said, I think the Bills have enough at the position given the 2025 draft was weak at the position.

During today's media availability, head coach Michael Leone provided an update on defenseman Vsevolod Komarov. "He is doing better but in concussion protocol and will miss some time." The Amerks recalled forward Olivier Nadeau along with defensemen Peter Tischke and Noah Laaouan from the Jacksonville. Laaouan is unavailable due to injury.

You really have to give the Panthers their flowers. They were a superior team tonight. Their PK was huge (great all series). They have championship pedigree and it is impressive.

He may have gotten the call if the series was going to be a track meet, but the Amerks liked Komorov’s size against the Crunch (plus he’s still a legitimate Sabres prospect). Now that he’s likely in the protocol (plus no word how close Prow is to returning), I believe he will be the next man up.
