Sure, but divisional teams aren’t usually eager to trade with each other. That’s why I was studying the western conference. For instance, the last time we studied this, we found three trades between Boston and Buffalo in 50+ years. Your likeness from 1976 acquiring Savard, the Sabres moving on from Paille in 2011 (I think that was the year), and Taylor Hall with a gun to their head. It is super unlikely they will be able to make a trade for a top six forward within the division.

I think he can be sent directly to Rochester unless Buffalo doesn’t want that. It happened with the Jets and Kakkonen yesterday in an identical waiver claim situation.

No real info on Tage is concerning. I hope the Sabres don’t rush Tage back and then we have to say, ”Tage doesn’t look like himself” for a month. But today’s Practice roster is not a playoff roster. Simple as that. I’m reacting, not overreacting.

You need a dance partner, and no team NOT currently rebuilding is going to throw in the towel in November. Nashville & St. Louis have started slow. But they’re not going to signal a rebuild and sacrifice ticket sales this early. So you’ve got to target rebuilding teams like SJ, Anaheim, Montreal, and maybe Columbus. That’s a small group of teams to try to make something “big” happen. For fun, I checked on how Zegras season has gone…one goal in 14 games.

What strikes me is how innocuous the collision looked (if you want to call it a collision). Muel was just standing there and the next thing he knows, he’s spun down and out for weeks. It might be bad luck, but, he’s eligible for the 1/3 buyout due to age and I can see it happen this offseason. He’s just not available enough.

Bryson into the top four is not ideal. Actually none of this is ideal. McLeod to 1C? Ooooook And UPL needed a maintenance day? Adams is now in his fifth season and this is his fully formed team? Gross. But hey, at least these guys want to be here and GM’ing is hard, amiright?

You invented the fact that these rebuild trades were executed as cost cutting measures. They weren’t. The trades did shed cap in the trades, but that wasn’t the whole point of the trade. I’m all set with this conversation and I’m sure you are too.
