  1. “They have a really good record but…” is an interesting argument. You are what your record says you are. They are not an offensive juggernaut but they are a fast, tough team that gives up very little defensively. That is what succeeds in the playoffs.
  2. No shame there. That was a hell of a game. Minnesota are a legit team that play a very fast and hard game and Buffalo stood toe to toe with them all night but just couldn’t find that goal. You always want Tage to shoot but man if he slid it over to JJ there at the end I think the game is tied. If they play that game every night they are a playoff team. Lindy has them playing a playoff style. Regroup and come out hard next game. This team is rounding into shape. Adams does need to bring in another proven scorer. I love Benson’s game but he is not ready to be an offensive threat yet. Bring in a legit scorer and move Benson down to the third line.
  3. Knock on wood Milano can put a healthy stretch together here. If he rounds into form that is a huge lift for the defensive side of the ball.
  4. Why is everyone throwing Quinn away? Its not going to take Quinn to get a struggling prospect.
  5. Joker and Rosen for Jiricek and a pick is what I would offer. Jiricek is a project that needs AHL time to develop. He doesn’t help Buffalo make a push for the playoffs this year. Adams would need to make another move for a top 6 forward/ solid defensive dman for this season.
  6. You are right. I mean this team could only hold on to Kulich, Helenuis and say Komarov and Strabek, and move all the other prospects and still be in as good of shape as some other franchises. They can easily move a couple for pieces to help this team win now. I expect that to happen. Adams fully realizes that his career is on the line if he doesn’t get this team into the playoffs this season. And with the likes of Boston and Pitt falling and Ottawa and Detroit sputtering there is a real opportunity to make a serious run at the playoffs. Bring in a vet piece or two and at this team up to succeed.
  7. But but but Power doesn’t hit enough and Byram is redundant.😁
  8. Tage tells Paul Hamilton that he is good to go tomorrow. Said he could have played in SJ but team decided to give him the extra days off.
  9. [DailyFaceoff] Frank Seravalli says he believes Waddell has 5 to 6 offers on the table for Jiricek. The teams that are in the mix are Minnesota, Flyers, Penguins and to some degree Sabres and Sharks. Columbus is looking for a young top end prospect of the same calibre in return ”Hey Waddell you will love this guy we call Muel. I even locked him up long term so no contract issues.”😄 I can see Anton Wahlberg being a piece teams would be intrigued by.
  10. Hopefully they are on SabresSpace making decisions based on various poster rants😝
  11. https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/former-nhler-paul-bissonnette-assaulted-at-scottsdale-restaurant-1.2209780 Not good
  12. Giving up Cozens for Kreider and/or Trouba does nothing to help the roster. Who is playing 2nd line centre? Trouba is making $8 million and Kreider $6.5 million. How would that fit? And both have 15 team no trade contracts.
  13. 5 goals on 13 shots. That Colorado goaltending continues to be an issue
  14. This was posted on the Reddit Sabres site: “Since the start of 2023-24, the Sabres have a record of 31-15-3 without Samuelsson and 19-31-4 with Samuelsson 2023-24: 15-23-3 with 24-14-3 without 2024-25: 4-8-1 with 7-1-0 without This is obviously not all of his fault but it’s getting to be an unfortunately big sample size of the team being a lot better without him playing across multiple seasons. Also a bit funny after our record was a lot better with Samuelsson in the lineup in 2022-23.”
  15. Kulich for Jiricek Kulich for Kreider would people make those trades is they were on the table
  16. Sounds like the Rags have to clear cap to extend goalie Igor. I agree with others that Kreider would be a great pickup. Leadership, power forward and net front presence. No idea what the Rags want though in return. They are 12-6
  17. Jiricek is not good enough to play in the NHL right now. He would be a project acquisition. If they make a move right now I want to see a vet acquisition that can help win games right now. If they want to make vet moves as well as acquire a Jiricek for the future I have no problem with that but he can’t be the big move right now to help this team.
  18. I think he will be elite offensively. He is showing signs already. He’s never going to be as physical as Dahlin but hopefully that part will improve over time.
  19. Good post and look at the best offensive D men in the league. Who is the tough physical presence among them?
  20. SJ is going nowhere. Granlund is having a great season with 24 points already without a ton of support, after having a very good season last year. 32 years old, ufa after season. He could fit as 2nd line centre and move Cozens to wing or play LW with Tage and Tuch and reunite JJ Cozens Quinn. Interesting name to look at if rumors are true Sabres are calling around for a top 6 player.
  21. He was an alcoholic I think and had a scene at a team function. He went to rehab and then St Louis gave him a chance as an Assistant under Berube. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/wild-forward-kirill-kaprizov-wont-play-vs-flames-with-lower-body-injury/ Wonder if he plays against Buffalo
  22. I’m not going to compare the players to each other but in the 70s the Habs built a dynasty around a big 3 on D with Robinson, Savard and LaPointe and filled the D corps around them. They would have one or 2 of those guys on the ice at any time. Buffalo is setting up to have a similar model with Dahlin, Byram and Power. A big 3 that can play a ton of minutes. Fill the rest of the D corps in with Clifton types that can play physical and have a defensive consciousness. Im seeing growth with Power not just offensively but blocking shots, being more aggressive in his defensive play. These guys are still very young but the future is very bright for the big 3 lead by Dahlin.
  23. I agree they need another top 6 forward. I would see if there is a legit scoring winger to play with Tage and Tuch. Move JJ down to reunite with Cozens and Quinn and get them going again: legit scorer Tage Tuch JJ Cozens Quinn Benson McLeod Zucker Greenway Krebs one of Lafferty/Malenstyn/NAK
  24. I will say that the player that has benefited the most from Ruff as coach has been Tuch. Looks like a different player, total leader talking to the bench stepping up with clutch plays. Such pride playing for Ruff. Reimer was fantastic. Solid goaltending will go a long way towards this team taking the next step. Best game Cozens has played in a long time. Let’s hope this is the beginning of him returning to form. Clifton has been playing terrific hockey of late. Ruff is getting through to them. Hopefully Tage comes back soon and they can keep rolling.
