I disagree with those that think nothing will happen in net. The young kids development is stunted if they are constantly losing games because goaltending is failing. This is not a year to straight tank. There is no McDavid and the talent is spread pretty deep. The team to look at is Dallas. Ottenger is playing great for them plus they have Khudobin, Holtby and Bishop returning sometime soon. Four NHL quality goalies and only two spots. Khudobin is the one having the rough year statistically and Bishop is a wildcard. They aren’t moving Ottenger.

It is obvious that the goaltending is letting this organization down. Waiting for UPL to suddenly turn it around and be ready isn’t sound strategy. Adams need to get someone in here to stabilize the net for a while. I really wanted Vladar before Calgary grabbed him. I’m not sure who they are going to look at but Georgiev and Korpisalo are not the answers.

Did we already forget they were picked last OA, below Seattle and are missing some of their better players. They are punching above their weight. They could have won half of the past 10 games. We know they are a bad team.

Half the anger is over the Bills disaster just being brought over to the Sabres game. The bottom line is the Sabres are playing over their head for the lineup they are icing. Other then the Calgary game they are playing hard and are in almost every game.

The Sabres won’t be in the Bedard Michkov race. I think a more likely target will be Buffalo boy Musty

Levi is full value for his numbers and the main reason North Eastern are where they are. They are opportunistic offensively and try to play structured defensively but Levi drives the bus. I imagine if the backup plays they don’t have a winning record. The interesting part of Levi is that his Carleton Place, WJC, and college numbers all line up. 3 teams, 3 different environments and he is consistent as can be. The difference between Levi’s numbers at Carleton Place and his backup’s numbers were striking.

Josh Bloom with a 4 point game including 2 short handed goals, one while killing a 5 on 3. Bloom knocking Novikov out of the most unheralded, underrated draft pick position.😀

The number one thing Adams has shown is that he sticks to his plan and no one or nothing is going to make him speed up or deviate from it. He wants to properly develop the kids and that is what he is going to do regardless of the standings.

Mercer is great. I think time will show that it was a great draft with a lot of very good players. Glad they got two in Quinn and Peterka.

He is small and that will always be used against him. His issue is that he is a fearless small player who goes flying into all situations full tilt. He has been knocked out cold by two massive hits the past couple years so I think some worry about durability with that style. At the end of the day I think he goes top 3, just too much talent there.

I just want to see a little run with Anderson back in net and Mitts, VO, Tuch and Joker added to this group. That is a 1st line, top pairing D and starter out and they still battle every game.

I know it is way too early so I won’t list specific names but my ideal 1st round would be a high end centre, scoring winger and a talented RHD. With Tage emerging and the acquisition of Krebs to go with Mitts an Cozens, centre is no longer a black hole but another high end centre would be great. You can always use scoring wingers and a high end RHD would help to level out the young back end.

So who is the guy they should get? Korpisalo is crapping the bed in Columbus, two years under .900 sv percentage. Montreal are in dire goaltending need now too. Fleury has been a disaster in Chicago. Who is the guy to go get?

I’m envisioning a future in which the Sabres are in the playoffs and they are rolling out a 6’7 offensive centre who is an absolute matchup nightmare for opposing teams.😀
