From Lance Lysowskis article: “The AHL will be a significant adjustment for Rosen. In addition to the smaller ice surface, he will need to learn how to create offense in a more physical, chaotic game. There will be opportunity to learn and develop, especially if Quinn and Peterka make the Sabres’ roster out of training camp. Rosen can play top-six minutes and special teams. If both join the Sabres, Appert will still have prospects to coach, including Rosen, Kisakov, Lukas Rousek, Linus Weissbach and Brandon Biro. But if Peterka or Quinn are back in Rochester to start the season, the Sabres have a way to ensure Rosen can still develop and receive the necessary playing time. A source told The News that Rosen has a clause in his contract that allows him to be loaned back to a team in Sweden before December if he's not playing enough. The move can be made if Rosen needs a top-six opportunity.” Seems like they are bringing him over to develop.

Well Anaheim have iced an awful team. That is where the analytics dept and Bales would have to come into play. Are his numbers caused by the team or has his play fallen off.

Use a first +Johnson + to aquire Gibson or sign a UFA goalie to be the starter next year: Kuemper, Campbell, Husso, etc. Or sign two goalies to create a tandem: Desmith+Comrie They need new, competent blood in the crease next season in order to make a meaningful step forward. You can have all the young guys you want progressing but if you are fishing the puck out of your net constantly it doesn’t mean squat.
-
Those guys really love Nazar more then all the other scouts.
-
Message boards where every trade or signing would be a disaster. Zadorov-Gudbransen would be fine as a third pair defensive pairing. Keep it simple, kill penalties. They had good chemistry together. Probably won’t happen anyways but they are ahead of where Manson is right now.
-
As a few mentioned, just sign the Zadorov-Gudbransen pair as a 3rd pairing. The “we need big physical guys” crowd would be happy. Add a goalie and you are good to go.

Or did he mean talks about whether they should graduate JJ and Quinn. Talks about keeping R2.

Great tournament for Canada and Cozens. Almost the immaculate comeback but that ref my oh my. Watching Tompkins play net makes me angry all over again about Levi and the Olympics Dahlin has already arrived but let’s hope this was a big springboard for Cozens and Asplund to pull“A Tage” next year.

Why is Dubois a cancer?
-
The smiley was for trading for Dubois to run a Krebs Dubois Cozens line. Cozens has been full value so far. He looks like he will be a playoff warrior when that day comes.
-
If Bergeron retires and Marchand is out for the first half of the year then Boston might be in trouble.
-
Or pair him with Krebs and Dubois😁 Maybe he is. I haven't Watched Finland play.
-
6-1 Canada win. Cozens with 2 goals and assist. Cozens named one of the 3 top players for Canada for the tournament. Cozens, Dahlin, Asplund all won best players for their teams. Great tournament for development. Cozens vs Joker for Gold tomorrow

TSN in Canada

4-1 Canada after 2 periods. Cozens-Dubois-Batherson just toy with the opposition when they are on the ice.

You are so stuck on this 2 years and then he walks. You don’t know that. It doesn’t even need to be Nylander. They have to spend $20 million to get to the floor. Sign a goalie, sign a dman and trade for an impact forward. Quite easy and improves the team drastically.

It will be a really interesting offseason in Calgary. That was not the way they expected their season to end. Gaudreau, Tkachuk and other need new deals. Markstrom crapped the bed against Edmonton. Will have to see how it all plays out.
-
McDavid and MacKinnon😁
-
Vanek Roy Max was a 3rd line. JJ will be fine if he is on a 3rd line.

My problem is people don’t want to make any moves to improve. This idea of just wait because this group is guaranteed to be really good is fallacy. There is no guarantee this group will magically turn a corner. I’m not advocating making stupid moves and giving up top end young talent. But if you can add difference makers that elevates the team then you look at it. This “he only has 2 or 3 years of control” is BS. If the player is good enough then sign him to an extension or deal him for a haul before he leaves. Put your young players in the best position to be successful by surrounding them with top end talent that fits into the culture. You can’t have 25-30 young players. You will go nowhere with that.

This isn’t a year for anyone to have a meltdown. There are a bunch of players all in the same general area. No one really stands out. Its going to be fascinating to see how the top 10 plays out. The Sabres will have some interesting options at #9 and there will be a couple players available that some probably didn’t think would be there. A couple years ago I got caught up in the Rossi tunnel vision and couldn’t believe when they took Quinn. I learned a lesson. I trust this staff will pick a good player at #9, someone who fits the culture and is talented,

There’s a 3 year old I hear might be a phenom. We should just wait 15 more years and make a run for him. Could possibly have a chance to be good in 2037 but that might be rushing it too.

Or we can actually get better now. 11 years of waiting is more then enough waiting.

Canada with the massive comeback to stun the Swedes. Down 3-0 in the 3rd, wins it in OT. Cozens was very good but needs to work on that shot to snipe more. Asplund and Dahlin were named players of the tournament for Sweden.
