Husso is a backup who got to play some more games last season but faltered in the playoffs. Let’s not pretend Husso is a slam dunk. He had similar numbers as Comrie but with a larger sample size last year.

25-26 seems to be the sweet spot where most goalies’ talent and mental maturity catch up to each other and they take off. That is why it is such a crapshoot drafting goalies at 18. Comrie is a roll of the dice but one worth taking. He has a real chance to take the net and run with it.

He is a guy who knows his role, his strengths and plays to them well. 6’2 208lbs, plays the body, plays aggressively in the d zone, very good on the PK. Blocks shots. He will be a fan favourite without ever really contributing offensively. Think Rhett Warrener/ Jay McKee type. Leafs played him with Reilly and was a good ying to Morgan Reilly’s yang. I think he would be a good match for Power.

What I have learned over my years of Development Camp is never judge a goalie on their first camp after they are drafted. They always look lost that initial year. Not expecting much from the Finnish kid this week. Glad to see Levi and Portillo looked good.
