Another Sabres 2nd round pick that is trending towards not going anywhere. Also this should have probably been Benson’s first year on the Sabres. I agree with you that there needs to be a focus on forward draft picks moving forward.

I think the JJ trade will turn out like the Savoie trade. Everyone around hockey fandom will say “The Sabres got destroyed” in the trade but after a season it turns out that the Sabres did very well. Fans will enjoy what Kesserling and Doan bring to the team.

Johnson would be fine as a 6 or 7th dman this season. People get into this headspace that 3rd pairing Dmen and 4th line players have to be spectacular.

Adams whole thing was sign these kids up early to long term deals and save money over the course of the deals. Rage’s deal has worked out great. The other deals have not.

Let this sink in for a second: Last year this GM stood up and said “No more excuses, it’s playoffs or bust for this team.” Then he put together a team that were one Bruins sell off away from ending last in the division. The owner didn’t think that was a fireable offence or that owning a team for 14 years and not making the playoffs one time is a big issue. The GM has put together a similar offseason so far this year. What are we even doing anymore? The Sabres are the laughingstock of the league and no one associated with the team seems to care.
