To everyone in the Oilers organization responsible for this hire I have but one thing to say:

There are literally no redeeming features about KBC. None. Every single thing about it completely sucks.

Visit any other NHL or NBA arena and you will see just what an embarrassing dilapidated shithole KBC is. Every one of the arenas even close to comparable in awfulness are in the process of being replaced, most major colleges have far better arenas. There are even several AHL teams that have nicer arenas.

Sabres are 2nd and Canucks are 5th and I think I know why:

This offseason in a nutshell: Through his own bungling and miscalculations Adams put himself in a position where he had to accomplish something impossible to redeem himself. Predictably he failed.

You left out a terrifying detail: The NHL did steer Pegula towards 2 different GM hires: Tim Murray and Jason Botterill (two of the worst GM's in the history of the sport).

Found a guy who had a worse day than KA:

Adams is a giant pile of suck but he didn't want to get rid of either of those guys and you are nuts if you think he did. Jack demanded out, Sam was a year away from walking out the door for nothing. He had no choice about moving either, he had to trade them.

There's no way he comes back next season. None. That bridge has been publicly nuked, he won't accept a trade and is going to be bought out.

The guy is complete washed up garbage which is why the freaking rags are trying to unload the guy. If you want a minimally talented cheap shot artist give Pat Kaletta a call as it would be far cheaper.

If the guy we want is the guy SJ takes with the 11OA pick it would be freaking hilarious so bet on that happening.

Or Adams was one of the most grossly unqualified hires in hockey history who only got the job because he was a trusted stooge of just about the most incompetent failure of an owner in hockey history and is really ***** awful at a job he had no business being hired for in the first place.

It's depressing watching this knowing it has virtually no chance of ever happening here until Terry Pegula is out of the picture.

Yeah, it was magic culture change getting rid of Skinner and not the fact that their near historically bad goaltending that was killing them when the advanced stats said they should be a cup contender improved. Scott Darling made Carter Hutton look like Hasek, that's how bad their goaltending sucked.

Yeah, this clearly wasn't pushing a narrative to fans because they had to trade one of their best players for a bag of rocks...

Skinner was 100% traded because he wasn't re signing with the Canes because he wanted to be closer to home (which is LITERALLY the reason he was traded to us: It was the only place he would waive his NMC to go to). The whole "RBA got rid of him" thing some people are pushing is absolute made up fantasy *****.

I have no idea why anyone expects a bunch of wild moves this offseason. No veteran player worth acquiring will agree to waive their NTC to come here. No UFA with any options is signing here unless they get an insane overpay. We are the single least respected organization in all of hockey with an owner who is just about the biggest failure in the modern history of the sport. There has never been an organization less respected than the Pegula Sabres and NOBODY wants to come here. There is a terrible price to pay for the neverending stupidity and incompetence and until this team is an actual contender we will continue to pay it. What Adams can realistically do (and has to) is identify guys who are badly undervalued by the rest of the league (this is where having a solid analytics department comes into play) and take advantage of this.
