He is playing well for someone who hasn't played in essentially a month. I know there was some angst in Detroit for him sitting out all those games and then miraculously got well just in time for the Olympics to start.
He was killing two of my fantasy hockey teams this year.
It is not doom and gloom with me. I just don't think he was the best choice. Can't I believe that?
My issue is his thin resume. I thought there were more candidates out there. He has been AGM in Ottawa during the decline from their Stanley Cup FInals year through now. They have not exactly been a model franchise during that period and they are in a rebuild mode. Someone posted somewhere today that he doesn't have rapport with the GMs like Regier did. How is that possible if you have been an AGM for 7 years?
If you want to look at a 7 year window, look at Ottawa for the last seven years.
It's just conversation folks on a message board. I certainly hope folks don't internalize this stuff.
A good realtor will tell you the BEST day to buy a house is when it is pouring rain. You can learn a lot about a house, roof, foundation, gutters, drainage etc when it is raining. Buy a house on a bright sunny day, you learn nothing.
