  1. All I can say is you haven't lived long enough. History is rife with examples of athletes forcing teams to do things they don't want to do.
  2. Damn... I forgot there were playoffs on today
  3. I don't get this. I don't and won't hate him for this. Hating a player for trying to force a team to play him in the bigs is irrational to me. Especially when the team screwed the pooch with his eligibility to begin with. The Sabres are the ones that have made all the mistakes here. ALL of them.
  4. I get what you are saying. I don't think this franchise can afford to dump it's talent for first round picks and then fire blanks.
  5. It amazes me how fast this board has condemned this kid to the discard pile.
  6. If you are trying to change the culture and the perceived culture of the worst team in the NHL and the worst team in franchise history, do you think it makes sense to tarnish the image of your first round draft pick and your club? The same draft pick that just showed the world he's got game. 36 hours ago, the new GM said he was going to make bold moves. Continuing the poor handling of one of your top prospects is not a bold move. I've seen others opine on here that this would be viewed negatively by other players. I disagree. Players are thick as thieves. If I saw how the Sabres were mishandling a prospect, I would think twice about the franchise. Buffalo has three options as I see them: 1. Send the kid to the Q -- A place where he has out grown 2. Keep the kid in Buffalo and work on his game 3. Trade him. I opt for 2 if he is the future of the franchise. If management has decided he is not, then go option 3. But to pick option 1 is just plain dumb in my eyes.
  7. Agreed. These are the Sabres, some will be broke/broken soon anyway.
  8. I disagree. What part of that is not getting through :w00t:
  9. New Sabres making the same dumb moves as the old Sabres. If this was TM's first move, he botched it.
  10. The Sabres have a management team in place that genuinely looks strong...
  11. It's been almost 24 hours and no trades have been made.. Come on TM, where's the bold move? Surely you can get some return for Zemgus or Tyler. On a slightly more serious note, I didn't hear a ringing endorsement of TN from TM. He sounded like he really didn't know him. Said he scouted his sons and seen him around a few rinks. Hope to engage in :"small talk" with him and get to know him... My spider senses are up... My gut tells me TN is not a TM kind of guy and he was being politically correct. He may have come out stronger on some of the other interviews, but in the one to the NHL network, he was definitely not sending out a ringing endorsement. Maybe the bold move he has planned doesn't involve a player...
  12. So TM talks about making bold moves. I have only done a cursory scan on his credentials. What exactly has he won or done in his career to back up such talk?
  13. I used to have money..
  14. @325, 200 on Buffalo
  15. It's the one I use. Take the consensus number. www.vegasinsider.com/nhl/odds/las-vegas/‎ It is blocked from my job site
  16. I am agnostic to TM. He wasn't my preferred choice. I'll judge him by how he handles the trade deadline and draft.
  17. Here we go again Carolina -110 Buffalo -110
  18. I guess the good news is that they catch them without Eric Staal. The bad news is that Skinner is on fire (well not bad for both my fantasy teams). Skinner had a hat trick and I believe a total of six goals last week.
  19. Doesn't look like KC can stop Indy this half What a crazy game
  20. Outside of his 4qtr play against Carolina, he showed very little skill and leadership. As the season went on, his performance degraded. He was outplayed by a practice squad QB. Sure it is rough to judge him this way in his rookie season. But last time I checked, he is cashing the checks of a starting QB but playing like a 3rd stringer. I've seen enough, or really, not enough, to convince me he is a bust. Draft another QB. EJ should get a second season, but to think he will improve is only based on hopeful thinking and not by what he has demonstrated this year. Geno Smith had an equally tough year, but there he was in the last game against Miami knocking them out of the playoffs. I just don't see the qualities it takes to win in EJ.
  21. I don't believe he mishandled any handoffs this season.. So there's that.
  22. ;) Maybe it happens more in Buffalo. Haven't thought about this for years. When someone passed you a Canadian quarter it felt like they scammed you. All you could think about was how to pass it off to some other rube.
