  1. And against the Stanley Cup Champs. The campaign against Sam has become laughable. FOCUS ON THE REAL PROBLEMS. Not cherry picking against someone because it fits the narrative.
  2. His specialty is turn arounds so that probably precludes him coming here
  3. Good guy, did a lot around the community. Time to leave though. Good Luck Bogie.
  4. That was exciting and fun. Love 3v3, especially when we win. Eichel 3v3 is tough to stop.
  5. Playing center is much harder than people realize because the game is swirling all around you. Many guys prefer playing with their back to wall (wings) or the game in front of them(d-men).
  6. I'm talking about him on RW like Boston, and if he's not a playmaker, what is he? Useless?
  7. You know what makes a ton of sense IMO is to put Johannson (playmaker) with Lazar (checker) and Skinner (finisher).
  8. Is this true? Small point but 20% of his goals have come on the PP during his career. Why is VO more deserving? We will have to agree to disagree on the last statement. His role was determined very early, and that didn't include his linemates from last year nor first PP unit usage, and not putting him with Jack and Sam after the injury is mind boggling. Who's fault is that? certainly not all on the player.
  9. Get this out of the way, Jeff hasn't played up to snuff recently. But, the notion of his linemates and opportunities not impacting him this year is absurd. He has 0 PPG this year, he had 10 at this point last year. For some reason, whether it be Olofsson getting off to a hot start on the PP or something else. His PP deployment especially after the first 10 games or so has been different. Last year he had 30 G after 47 games this year 11, but without the 10 PPG. People should realize that his stats after 10 games this year were pretty similar to last year, but with more ice time and playing with Sobotka and Johansson a lot of it. That doesn't to me reflect a guy who was sulking at being taken off the top line. Somewhere between the initial 10 games this year and the next ten, he played almost strictly on the 2 PP unit, his ice time dropped, and the next 10 it dropped again and of course again. Whether RK thought things were going well, liked where his PP was at, forgot about JS, or has been punishing him. I think the culture thing and punishing him is unlikely. He would like him to be scoring. I think he likely made an error in judgement. He moved him off the top line and things weren't going badly (6G this year vs 5 G last year). But, anyone who's played hockey knows the goals and points come from the PP. Like it or not, these guys have egos, and JS started to get frustrated and then team began it's swoon after a good start. There was a point where RK was leaving the entire PP1 out the almost entire 2 minutes. He may have needed to throw his 40 goal scorer more of a bone, rather than playing him with the guys he did and without PP time. Looking at the mess now, with the long term contract, and people frustrated, he likely made a mistake. I know some won't like that opinion, but tough. Skinner has 5 G since game 10 and none in forever, last year he had 25 during the same time frame, including a bunch of PPG. Jeff Skinner has 1 PP assist this year, that's it, think about that. He should have been placed with Jack and Sam when VO got hurt and he came back. And, not sit on the bench during PPs while Mojo took VOs place (where teams were daring him to shoot and he wouldn't). No Jeff hasn't played well lately, but his deployment by the coach bears some responsibility too. And, its hurt. Now get another good ***** center to play with him. JMO
  10. Now if he'll just use Lazar to win an OZ PP faceoff and we don't waste 30 secs. losing it and having it iced every time.
  11. By watching 85-90% of the games I am pretty sure he's not getting many easy ones like last year with Sam and Jack. And, with VO out it makes little sense to throw a finisher out there with some of the guys that Skinner has played the majority with.
  12. Agreed. We have bottom 5 at best 10 talent on this team. All the good culture in the world doesn't get us to where we'd all like.
  13. So you think the quality of shots, directly related to not only who you play against, but with, has no impact on production. And, playing with JE did nothing to improve that. I completely disagree.
  14. His shooting % is impacted by the quality of chances he's had, did he have some luck last year-of course. Playing with Eichel last year put him in positions to score the likes of which he's not seeing this year.
  15. The reason culture is also important, and why teams try to build it, is because it can be the difference maker in comparable talent levels.
  16. 1-You watch the games, so do I, and that is just not true. To believe that ,you'd have to believe playing with Eichel last year did nothing to improve his chances and that's nonsensical. 2- Like who Oloffson? 3- Bottom line, he sacrificed his only 40 goal scorer this year, the reasons remain unclear.
  17. People get all righteous about having a balanced attack, and it's a nice goal. In my experience it usually gets back to having 4 lines that can maybe score (or not) versus 1 that can and the other team has to really worry about and a 2nd that is strong enough. Right now we have half a line that can score reliably. And, in that case you end up scoring 2 ,1 or 0 alot and that's not enough. Skinner is a finisher plain and simple. He's not going to get the puck, pass it to himself or stickhandle around guys and then score it.
  18. No kidding, this has got the earmarks of a very strange usage pattern from RK with certain guys (Miller). Since the very beginning he has been down on our 40 goal scorer, and it hasn't helped. I'm tired of this and blaming Skinner, Ralph deserves some flack as well. His job is get the most out of players.
  19. Could we possibly be so lucky as to end up with Lafreniere or Byfield?
  20. Not buying what you're selling on this one (Mojo~SamR) Mr. Perreault. Whether Reinhart is better as a second liner or a first liner, of course we'd be better of if he were used in a second line role. I do worry that JBot will overpay, and would prefer someone else made that decision. In short I want him back at the right price. All the guys, except Jack, are perhaps being used a role above where they could/should be due to lack of resources. Therefore, what happens IMO is guys are expected by fans to perform at levels they can't consistently play to. We all want the same thing....success. I hope we don't bite off our noses to spite our face by focusing on the wrong things.
