I have it from a number of hockey guys I know that Evander Kane is like the worst person ever. I know guys who he played with who tell me he once asked Joe Thornton to borrow a million bucks. And, pretty much everything else about him is true. He is a scumbag, who could very well have committed just about anything.

I my world, optimism isn't something the organization is entitled to year after year. As a fan, all I can do is turn it off and at most remain a casual Sabres fan if I don't enjoy it. If this stays the way it looks like it will be, I'll probably watch at the beginning and if it becomes a waste of time........well I'll find something else to spend time on. Bottom LINE.

Wow I try to be an optimist, but this team looks just awful. I find what has transpired during this so important period to be truly depressing. Is there any reasonable plan ?

As was said before, the vets need to be on the ice and producing. Just being a resume guy, " played 13 years in the NHL, 36 years of age, 3 time all star", now in street clothes is not enough.

The announcers (Emerick, Albert and Forslund) were all enjoyable. No problem with them. The analysts drove me nuts especially the aforementioned Pierre, but Olzcyk was awful IMO. I think of him as a terrible coach posing as an expert, I disagreed with much of what he tried to BS us with. Stuff like 6 minutes to go and down 2 goals, "its way to early to start pinching your Dmen".....uh Eddy... nah forget it -you'd never get it. BYE BYE Pierre and Eddy

As I've said before I'd wait on moving him, they don't have to trade Eichel when his value is at an all time low. It might even work out that he comes back and is the asset he can be.

I heard a rumor from a friend in the Flyers organization today. He's hearing big noises about Eichel to Flyers for Konecny, Morgan Frost, a first and possibly another pick.

Worthy topic for sure. At the top of my offseason list is goaltending. In an ideal world, having both Ullmark and Drieger heading into to next season is my preference. I'm in the minority, but after this, I bring back almost the whole band including Eichel, Reinhart, Granato and see what we can do. I'm not ignoring other assets being added through free agency. But, they are likely analytically driven cheaper options up front and dumping low life skaters off the roster whenever possible (everyone knows who I mean). Not a complicated plan, improve the goaltending so every night it has a quality starter, keep our talent, get rid of dead beats, sign cheaper productive options.

Each day that goes by kind of makes you wonder if it really is Granato.
