  1. Most likely no. But this make me wonder - without looking it up - how far were the Sabres away from being able to draft Jiricek? And what would the cost have been then to move up vs. what we’re kicking around now?
  2. This is probably what it would take. And I would do it too.
  3. With as far as the Bills have gone into their D depth I wonder how that has impacted the kick coverage units. I suppose Bass could kick everything thru the end zone (5 or 6 times? 😀).
  4. He’s really good. Gotten Jackson to another level. I’m a bit surprised he hasn’t gotten any interviews in this HC hiring cycle. He’s better than that guy from Detroit, who seems to be talked about a lot.
  5. It will help a little that the Bills will be home for both games.
  6. After all your thoughtful preparations for the game, I see a 24-hour flu bug in your future, starting at about 8AM Monday. Just be sure to cough a lot (for added effect) when you make the phone call in.
  7. No sufficient emoji response @Scottysabres. What you are doing is simply fantastic. I hope you and your step-dad have an awesome and memorable day. (Weather aside).
  8. Agree. I would have felt a lot more comfortable if the Bills could run their offence unhindered by the weather and TJ Watt out.
  9. What a coincidence. So do the Sabres and Sens. (Apologies for the gratuitous cheap shot).
  10. Been meaning to post this for over a week now re: Strbak. This is from Tony Gasparini, GM of Strbak's USHL team. Notably, Gasparini was a longtime scout in the LA Kings organization. (From The Athletic). “His biggest strength is competitiveness and willingness to engage himself in the game physically and defensively. He moves quite well,” Gasparini said. “And I do think there’s a secondary offensive element to his game because he does shoot it so well. He’s a very direct and assertive offensive player. He wants pucks to the net. But the primary of his game is going to be a shutdown, very hard and physical leader type defenseman with some secondary offence.” @LGR4GM does this fit the description of what you hoped Muel to be?
  11. LFG! Get ‘em before they get more healthy in a week. Finish them. Emphatically.
  12. Recently turned 68. Let’s get moving on that parade thing Bills/Sabres. I’m running out of time!
  13. Bold prediction for next week’s game. McDermott burns his first timeout just before the coin flip to discuss strategy
  14. Who let Ken Dorsey back in the coach’s booth?
  15. Rashly Douglas for HOF. Rasul. Friggin phone. Rashly???
  16. F*^%&ing wonderful. A page straight out of the Sabres playbook.
  17. Wishing everyone a merry Christmas and wonderful holiday season. Enjoy! P.S - the movie gifs are great.
  18. Agree completely. Shesterkin (or however the hell you spell his name) very rarely gets beat by shots he sees cleanly. The Sabres need to be in his grill and get a couple greasy goals. Robinson would certainly help in that regard. Otherwise VO will need to do it. 😀🙄 (I find humor in the absurd).
  19. So @Contempt had it in the right order. The way I originally listed them (helping hint) best to worst. +3, +2, +1, and -1.
  20. Wrapping things at work up before the holiday weekend so I thought I'd start my first thread. I realize +/- is a maligned metric as to its usefulness but its simple. So, without looking, rank the following Sabres in +/- best to worst, through last night's game. The candidates: E Johnson, VO, Clifton, Power. I'll post the numbers later this evening but go ahead and peek after if you're curious. Surprising fact: only one of the four are minus on the season to date.
  21. Me too. And I remember thinking we had just seen the team's ceiling with TT at QB and Greg Roman as OC - which never was going to be near good enough.
