  1. Sure, good player. But I think he is the kind of guy that says no to Buffalo. AND I just don't think KA will pay that much for a 32 year old. He is not going to improve the defense that much. He is another 5/6/7 depth piece.
  2. Very true. You need more leaders than you have letter wearers. Kyle is a really good C for this group. No matter how many goals and points he gets.
  3. He already brought in another bottom pair guy with Stillman. To get better you have to add better players. Bringing in more Lyubushkin/Stillman level players is not the answer. Bring in one really good and experienced top 4 guy. If that person moves Joker, or even Samuelsson, down to 5/6 so be it. The idea of a trade is to get better. Not to spend resources on the same level you have.
  4. I am thinking it will be Dahlin for C, with Tuch getting the A. If Zemgus stays he will keep the A. If he leaves then it is open for possibly Cozens, who will wear it well.
  5. Big win gonna happen tonight. I’ll be flying to Florida and will likely miss it.
  6. You are missing a lot on your assessment of Okposso and his relationship to the team and coaches.
  7. If they pick up two 2nd pair quality players they could be special. Ryan Johnson and Clagg can go to Rochester
  8. Cozens. Unless you mean one of your relatives.
  9. The first Sabre. https://www.buffalohockeybeat.com/flashback-meet-joe-daley-the-maskless-sabres-goalie/
  10. Bromley was much better. In the Stanley Cup season of 1974-75 he started 50 games and finished 26-11-11, with Roger Crozier out sick and injured most of the season, Bromley was a pivotal player. Farr appeared in 7 games that season, finished 0-1-2. Eventually they added Gerry DesJardins at the trade deadline and he took them into the playoffs along with Crozier. Farr was gone the next season, Bones Bromley played one game the next season and that was it. .
  11. Playing slower and more carefully. His shot is not the same and he is less aggressive lately - which is still more aggressive than most of the team.
  12. less drastic move would be: Mule Dahlin Power New Player Stillman/Bush Joker That would be a decent top 7 and you could rotate the bottom pair and have 7 ready at all time on you 23 man roster. Rochester - R Johnson, Clague
  13. If you can then sure you do. But if the the team trading you a defenseman wants one in return then you can't.
  14. Tage at 50 goals and 100 pts, and Dahlin at 80 points is nice, but I want the team to improve too. I will happy with over .500 winning Ptcg, a positive goal diff, and to just stay in the race. If you go down, you go down swinging. With 26 and 23 now out it will be very hard to get on a winning streak but we have to put the late season injuries into the conversation. Which means we need to address depth in the off season.
  15. PFC Bryson and PFC Clague reporting for duty, Sir!
  16. Playoffs aside, I am looking forward to a strong finish, over .500 Deluca. This is going to be difficult given the injuries - Samuelsson week to week means two weeks probably. Dahlin has been just way too banged up lately. The heavy minutes due to poor depth have taken a toll. I do not see a Norris at this point, his hope was continue strong overall play to the end, and finish 2nd in points among defenseman.
  17. Still too early to tell. At least a good 4th liner. Is he middle 6? time will tell.
  18. More Bryson and more Clague.
  19. But Matty Ellis will talk to Rob Ray and provide critical insights.
  20. I have commented on this several time lately. This has to be easiest part of their job, yet they don’t call it consistently over the course of a game. Which makes me want to go back to the old rules. Take the officials out of it.
  21. It kind of ended tonight since we tied in regulation. We will beat the Leaves.
  22. There were two faceoffs in OT. We lost them both. We never had possession of the puck in OT. We did touch the puck long enough to get a whistle when we were called for a penalty. Other than that, we did not posses the puck. We also give up a ton of shots by cleanly losing faceoffs in our defensive zone. Cutting that down has to help the overall GAA. Yes, faceoffs matter to good teams.

  24. Not really true. For the short era of the black and reds Goat Heads they had some very tough teams, definitely a higher percent of very tough teams. But many of those players also played in Blue and Gold too. The earlier two decades of Blue and Gold had plenty of guys that would have hammered the Goat Heads, and many more that could beat them at hockey.
