  1. Been waiting a lifetime for my Sabres “Schmaltz” jersey.
  2. Custance (Athletic) • The Jack Eichel trade market was fun while it lasted, which was all about 10 minutes for Bob McKenzie to finish his Twitter thread. One executive theorized that the Sabres might have listened to get a sense of what his trade value is worth but that’s it. “I don’t know how you make that deal and sell it to the fanbase,” he said.
  3. There you go - that’s a hell of a lot stronger than “we have no intention of trading him.”
  4. "We have no intention" and "we're not looking to do anything" are weak statements, I'm sorry, they are. They are NOT an unequivocal "no." That sounds like "open for business" in GM speak. Look, I'm not one to make a mountain out of a molehill but if Adams wanted to squash this once and for all, he'd say: "Jack Eichel isn't going anywhere. He's a Sabre for life and we're going to build around him and win a Cup with him." That is NOT what he said. GMs choose their words carefully with this stuff and based on that quote, Eichel can definitely be acquired for the right price.
  5. “no real desire” - interesting phrasing. Suggests a higher level of offer might lead to a higher level of desire...
  6. I’m sorry but “proactive” and “paradigm,” aren’t these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? I’m fired, aren’t I.
  7. Jeez it was that easy? We’ve been chasing a 2C forever and Adams just strolls in and asks, “Well has anyone checked the bargain bin at Kohl’s?”
  8. I’m considering an internal cap on the amount of Sabres hockey I watch.
  9. Should I feel bad about being left out of this clique? I don’t. But none of you are invited to my barbecue just FYI.
  10. And there’s the Good Bogo, right on cue.
  11. Bogosian breaking his stick and wiping out leading to a goal. Dude is just kind of a klutz.
  12. I guess it may depend on the hammer?
  13. Agreed. At this point he is a shootout specialist and that’s it. He can’t play against actual defenders.
  14. Not for nothing, for years he’s been posting IG photos of him and his buddies hanging out - and he’s either wearing a shirt or has his arms folded over his torso. IMO it’s because he is trying to hide from his coaches that he doesn’t work out enough, it’s clear when you watch him he lacks functional strength. It’s a joke he was 2C at one point. He looks so out of place out there - he looks like I did when I would wear my dad’s suit to elementary school on “dress up like your parent day.”
  15. “Easier” is putting it mildly. Go tell a single working mother of four in the inner city, who barely has an hour to herself all day, clips coupons and uses food stamps, and who is scared to death about paying the rent every month and keeping her kids from getting arrested or shot, to “grab some seeds and start a community garden.” PLEASE. Some of the takes here are so disconnected from reality...
  16. That’s half right, and half tone deaf/divorced from all reality/obtuse.
  17. Corn subsidies are almost 100% of the problem though. We subsidize obesity in this country because of Depression-era efforts to prop up small-time farmers.
  18. It’s really challenging to talk about the biggest public health crisis in this country in 100 years without talking about the “public” portion of it...
  19. Fun time to be alive.
  20. Between that and the lawsuit, his media career is over. Nobody is going to hire a guy who says reckless crap in clear violation of their media policy and then sues his employer for enforcing its policy against him. Right or wrong, he’s unhirable.
  21. His goal is not to win the lawsuit (he won’t), it’s to embarrass NBC and his former co-workers. Dude is such a tool, one of the biggest hosers ever.
  22. My buddy and I have a running text chain going back over a year where we make up names of guys who probably worked on building the Erie Canal. Jeremiah Crowe will be this week’s entry for me!
