Goaltending the issue, or team defense?
-
This is devastating news. My heart gies out to him, and all those affected.

I know Thorny. And ya, I get it, we're less than 10 games in, but even I have come to recognize these early seadon points play a huge role in a playoff birth. Outside of the Blues emaculate 2nd half of season run, most teams keep accumulating a portion of the points, it's not happening here and it's very concerning is all I'm pointing out.

There is a great deal of truth in this post. The way some are defending this "seadon to learn defense", you would think the Sabres entire roster were randomly pulled off the street August 1st, told to lace up skates and have never played structured organizational hockey with coaches, training facilities and an actual schedule. I.E. pond hockey crew. The fact is, this seasons start to date is a catastrophe. And there is plenty within the organization to point the finger at. From the owner. GM, coaching staff down to the players themselves, the Sabres were not prepared for this season. And the really concerning fact is this roster is near identical to late last seasons, meaning not only have they not progressed, but they've actually not bought in to what the coach is selling, imho.

Is that guy named Helly something or other still available? I hear he was an OK gap filler. Asking for my friend Kyven....

Have you heard? Adams got a goalie. The names Cooley Adams did a thing? I guess?

2 games eh? Kind of heavy for a former Bruins player, I was guessing $5k fine and some off season Jersey turnpike community service. -
Practice Lines 10/28, Bryson in tomorrow per Adams

The Pegula ownership, at least for the hockey team, has been a very brutal, very public disaster. Poor hiring at the top organizational positions, lack of patience in some instances to see what unfolds has led to an organizational catastrophe. They look to have started to mend it, but again, organizational management has not addressed a couple of the core issues, mainly defense and especially goaltending. I am starting to heavily question if Granato is the guy for the job. Developing is one thing, but pushing those developed assets to the next lvl doesn't appear to be his strong suit. The teams core of now locked up contract wise, there is 0 reason to not go after additional pieces to move to the next phase.....playoff hockey caliber roster.

It's a straight out disaster now as it stands. Playing catch up season after season only proves to me that this team, from GM on down, is not learning. They brought back nearly the identical roster, we shouldn't expect completely differing results to be honest. Is the season already over? Of course not, but until changes are made, expect similar results. After all, this isn't happening in a stasis bubble, other teams have, are and will continue to make changes to try and get better results, Buffalo, not so much.

Jersey has some snipers. They're quick, look real good. Buffalo, outside of a couple mistakes matches up against them well. Good game so far, to bad about Comrie, he's been looking sharp. Oh, and Kyven, wtf were you thinking with this Clifton pick up? Did you think we needed an additional mental challenge on this team? Fix this ***** Kyven, go get a real 3/4 d man.

Not feeling great about this one. Bucs have a decent defense. Hoping the offense can muster 27 points or so.

They need more leg movement to the inside, forcing the 2 upper D to collapse down which would open up the lanes to the lower boards players which would allow 1 of the blueline guys to step up in to the inside just above the face off circles which would allow other players to move their legs to cycle coverage and create space which would allow the opposing net minder to go cross eyed watching all of this movement which would allow a puck in the back of the net. Write that play up Meatballs, get'er done!
