  1. Sabretooth with 3 votes, impressive. Does anyone know his/her take on the defensive depth? Also, how do they interpret Kane's value to the community? Expansion draft philosophy? Do they prefer knights or nights? I may be switching my vote if Sabretooth confirms a strong belief that WNY pigs in the blanket are actually cabbage rolls.
  2. Would be a chuckle if we won it.
  3. Trade him, sign Petersen and let Ullmark and him battle for the starting job.
  4. I'm just hoping that whomever the Pegulas select and what format (president, GM, Coach) they choose to go with it brings.... A. A seriously skilled, speedy LW'er for Eichel and Baptiste to form a formidable line. B. A #1/2 LHD and a #3/4 RHD. C. A plan to jettison several contracts. And D. A long-term plan for the goal tending situation.
  5. Lol Way to much over-reaction. So the Pegulas are human, they make mistakes. Regardless of what the public thinks, they will soldier on with both the Bills and the Sabres. They own the teams. Murray was a disaster in my opinion. Poor hire.
  6. Yes, it was a miss. But, tomorrow is promised to no one. Even the Leafs. There will be time to where we stand against Toronto as the years move forward, but as of now, Sabres fans should rejoice. A new era is underway. Mistakes of the past will be undone.
  7. Maybe. But in the final analysis, all good intentions are is just that, intentions. Tough situation or not, Murray was given the opportunity to build a team. I won't get into the specifics of his assembly, but it failed, that much is certain. And failure is not an option here. This isn't a job where participation trophies are handed out. Murray's departure was necessary. The Pegulas must right the ship and get it back on course post haste. Today starts that process. And so it has come to pass, our time for the serious conversation on Tim Murray has come to an end. My suspicions were correct, as well as others on this board. Onwards and upwards.
  8. Everyone who hates the Murray firing obviously didn't pay attention to what Pegula said when he bought the team. "From this day forward the sole goal of the Buffalo Sabres is to win Stanley Cups" Murray wad a failure. So was Bylsma. Now, lets get this ship righted and win Cups! My hats off to the owner. Thank you Terry Pegula, you made the right decisions today.
  9. Looked on the calendar, who cares day is November 8th, every 4 years, not April 29th :P And thank you.
  10. Thank you good sir.
  11. Leafs will be better and for the better part of over a dozen years. Lottery luck, management team, coaching staff, pipeline depth, market aattractivness, winning culture and Don Cherry. Time to pony up on reality, the Leafs are going to be a force to be reckoned with for some time.
  12. When is the lottery again?
  13. Ka-sir-ra-sir-ra Whatever will be will be The futures not ours to see Ka-sir-ra-sir-ra
  14. They are going to face adversity. And let me give you a Sabers example. Back in the 73/74 season the Sabers had formed one of the most formidable lines in NHL history. The French Connection. Martin, Robert and Perrault terrorized competition. But......... Chicks dig scars, glory is fleeting and nothing, NOTHING, lasts forever. Toronto is good, this to shall pass. The Sabers need to get their shot together.
  15. Listened to the presser. Read many comments, from this board and other sources. Tim Murray takes responsibility. Great, he should. But no questions were asked that were paramount to the failure we, as fans, just witnessed this season. Yes injuries had an impact, yes our depth is young or in some positions, non-existent. But in the final analysis, why did the prime roster players Murray acquired not succeed here this season? I'm talking about Bogosain, Gorges, Kulikov on defense and Moulson on offense. Also, what of the declining play of Girgensons, Ennis and Reinhart? This is your mess Murray, and while you profess to take responsibility for it, fixing it does NOT answer the questions of your talent acquisitions and re-signings that created the mess. Customers want answers, no matter how painful.
  16. Why would I have to let you know? You will see them for yourself. But then, the attempt to address my post isn't based on that, is it? Ask yourself this........ How would you feel about rooting for the Toronto Bills, or the Hamilton Sabres. Or, insert a city name of your choosing.
  17. I'm calling out anyone who questions the Pegula's. Period!!!!! Yes they are going through a learning curve. Yes that pain is shared by ALL Buffalo sports fans. But......GFY!!!!! Without the Pegula's vision the Buffalo region most likely would be without an NHL or NFL team! And what I am saying is power to truth. There will be ups and downs, but to question ownerships commitment to win is hogwash. Like any other human beings, they make mistakes. I won't judge their ownership based on those mistakes. Instead.......I'm greatful for there dedication and commitment to the region. So I say, Thank you Terry and Kim. I know it's a tough learning curve, but please, continue on and know you have the support of the majority not only in the region, but thousands upon thousands of WNY ex-patriots as well to stay focused on the DREAM of championships!!!
  18. Decent signing to help LW depth.
  19. I'm at the game! Section 115 row 6 seat 16
  20. Yea, givin' the attack on O'Reilly the game before and the rule ok slashing clearly stating if the slash results in injury it is an automatic 5 and game misconduct, a couple game suspension is in order. Sid's out of control lol
  21. I started the other Murray discussion thread, specifically because of what you laid out here. I believe now Murray is in way over his head. One off season isn't going to fix the defensive mess in my opinion. He's boxed himself in and set himself up for failure. The time for excuses has passed. or get off the pot Tim!
  22. To Terry Pegula: Buy the property in Niagara Falls owned by Millstein. Knock down the Nabisco silos, erect a 20' wall around the waste treatment plant on Buffalo Avenue and build a world class 7500 seat arena with convention center and Hotel. Cost should be around 550 million. Get it done Terry!
