  1. I respectfully disagree. There are teams picking it up beyond SJ in the west. I don't think they make it, but we shall see.
  2. CJ should already be up imo. I like his play.
  3. It was on a podcast out of Buffalo today. Not sure who. Tarasenko is not who we need I believe. We have Skinner and Jack on that top line, we need a 2C to push Mitts down to more sheltered minutes, the kid isn't ready imo. I wouldn't be selling the farm to bring in any high price tag targets. Judging by the Blues current situation, the wheels haven't just fallen off, one of them was last seen bouncing off of I-44 in to a corn field with growing Kinetic Energy. The perfect scenario is unfolding there with such a high pick this yr they are forced to use it, handing Buffalo a full blown unprotected for next yr. And I don't see them righting that ship next season, maybe starting to stabilize it, starting too, but that pick is Gold Jerry, Gold! The aging San Jose Sharks are looking weak both on the roster and in the pipe line. I see them heading south next season in a big way. But it's the conditions on that 2019 1st position that is the most interesting to me. If the Sharks don't make the playoffs this year, Ottawa gets the pick, and with the pushes coming from other WC teams, I honestly don't believe they make it, as of now. Interesting times to be sure, if I'm Botterill, I'm holding those picks like a 6 yr old little girl does a Teddy Bear at bed time on a cold winters night.
  4. Caught the Winnipeg - Phiadelphia game. Speed kills. And, Ehlers looked especially fast. His passes were on tape.
  5. The ROR curse is real ? That Blues 1st for 2020 is looking like pure gold.
  6. The 2 Anaheim games I caught portions of this yr he was taking draws, just assumed he was.
  7. I would package Sam and an asset or 2 for an equally cost controlled player that can center a 2nd line. Rickard Rakell. Anaheim is looking for some assets, cost controlled as well as some futures. They are aware you have to give to get. A good shake up trade for both clubs imo.
  8. I believe we are re-signing Skinner. And not for 9 - 9.5 for 8. I believe a 4 to 6 yr contract at 7.5 to 8 may be incoming. Just a hunch. Olofsson comes up for RW duty which should free up a move with Reinhart. Of all the players, he is the expendable one, to me in any event. And Reinhart in a deal should be able to fetch a decent return, but, add to him an asset or 2, and the return might just add a significant center piece.
  9. After today, it's time for Botts to make a 5rade. And not just short term help trade, but a hockey trade.
  10. Meh, it's only a few regular season games.
  11. While I agree completely we need Mitts to come along, fill out his size more and so on, Thompson to me in any event, will never be anything but a good 3rd liner. He just doesn't have the feet for speed. And in today's NHL, you need more than just a few stick handling mode, you need speed, to be in those top 2 scoring lines, imho.
  12. This right here says it all. Our boys are hanging tough with top teams. Within striking distance every game. They're getting better. Players like Eichel, Risto, Dahlin.....they don't like to lose. Where many get pissed and despair, I see light at the end of the tunnel. All eyes now turn to Botterill. We have great reserves of young, developing talent in conjunction with high round draft picks. This team needs this season to develop, but, its leaders on the ice need to see Botterill believes in them. It is time to make a move Botterill. And not a rental, but a hockey trade. Imho.
  13. That's right boys, collect those points.......every one of them beautiful points count!
  14. Surprisingly low to no ball washing 9f Toronto from NBCSN tonight.
  15. This is true. I don't think anyone questions the needs to be addressed, just how. For me, I don't want Botterill giving up any of the high end picks. That means a hockey trade.
  16. Thanks, so its 2 to 1, I take we're playing well enough to win it.
  17. Just turned the game on......how bad or good is it?
  18. Absolutely this. I saw the same thing. I'd add the unpressured turnovers, which there was a lot of the last 2 games, to this. Mental preparedness, making good decisions with the puck and coaching. Housely should have changed that drop pass PP strategy after the 1st time it was failing. Nashville especially just stood them up at the blue line, and outside of Rodriguez, we don't have the speed to capatilize on that strategy imo.
  19. A lot of poor decisions with the puck tonight. They didn't show up prepared. Lack of Scorers/Finishers is still a very real problem with this team. If Botts sees an opportunity to improve this long-term I'd be shocked in-season. I expect the next off season to be a bit active. A fair amount of 1st periods this season they are no shows. That comes back to game preparation mentally, at least to me. Team leadership is learning, I expect them to get better as they mature.
  20. The Power Of The Tage Compells You
