  1. I agree with what your saying, except, if we have the ability to curtail the spread by implementing these, I think they're calling them Social Separation? Not sure on that, but if implementing them saves lives, I don't see an issue with it. Whether or not it works, well, that's a different story altogether I guess. It looks like several of you are in the medical field, so all I can go by is public reports and some conversations from some overseas and so on. What I don't get is the mass hysteria purchasing of products like TP, then it bleeds over to many other products. I got to tell ya Wyldnwoody, my sister in law is a nurse, she's not happy about what happened to her, but she's cool headed about it. My step daughter works as a cashier at Aldi's on NFBLVD right by the Niagara/Erie county line, the stories she's coming home with these past several days are hilarious, but also just sad. Human behavior I guess.
  2. That's one way of viewing it. I would imagine those that are dead, wouldn't agree with you.
  3. A slew of countries would disagree with you. I know Italy would. Multiple nations across the planet are taking modern era historical actions, for a reason.
  4. Looks like the early alarms back in Jan. On this one were correct.
  5. Outside of the mid 80's, 2000 time frame and the Pegula ownership the Sabres were always an exciting team who were in every game they played. While I realize they've yet to win a cup, they were on the cusp at least 3 times in their history. My personal favorite era was the Gilbert Perreault era. He was beyond something special, he was on par with the best in the league back in his day. Just simply awesome. I also really enjoyed Hasek. But Buffalo always had well above average net minders. It's all fallen apart under the Pegula's scorched earth strategy. Not that I mind the owners, but the amount of failures in a rebuild with this ownership group has me asking serious questions.
  6. Just got word, meeting tomorrow morning at my employer, subject, taking a couple weeks off. Also, my sister in law did treat a patient at Millard Suburban this past week that tested positive, her family is now on quarantine. No contact for my family.
  7. My wife told me at the time she was exposed to a patient that was brought in, I assumed it was at the hospital she worked at based on her being a nurse. It wasn't until the next day she told me it was 2 co-workers within her unit who were at the time in Rochester. Sorry for the confusion, I wasn't posting what was being news reported, as my post said, I was posting what my wife had initially told me.
  8. Some patient from Monroe County, she wasn't at the same facility but another health worker was, so they tested all for potential, she was cleared last night.
  9. Sad to see the season end, but, a necessary move. Hopefully this doesn't go in to next season but as of now, it's a wait and see approach I reckon.
  10. Oh man, that would be somehow tragic.
  11. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2020/03/11/coronavirus-covid-19-response-hurt-by-shortage-testing-components/5013586002/ You know, maybe, just maybe, protectionism on some of these type of production facilities would have been helpful, instead of spending the last 40 years allowing THIS NATION'S manufacturing capacity across the board to be drained away like waste water and actually supporting it through silence on it while many of us in the middle class were screaming about it for a few decades now. A Zen thought for the day. The article explains it form those in the industry.
  12. My wife's sister is at Millard Suburban, 2 patients currently confirmed, one in serious condition, she's being tested as I type this. I work at Oxy, as a permanently assigned contractor, plant makes base products for hand sanitizer, bleach, and of course, Chlorine, a majority of which helps clean a large percentage of the nations drinking water. Major meeting today on this. There is concern. If you still believe this to be overblown, PM me. You'll be surprised.
  13. So 6 - 6.5 for 3 yrs? Is his UFA yr in 1 or 2 more yrs?
  14. I don't think it's so much under repor5ing, the sports world is doing their part to try and slow the spread. What isn't being reported, at least in totality globally, is the actual spread rate. The medical people can speak to its implications as far as who gets more sick than others and why, but my family friend says the spread is larger than being reported, at least, where he's at.
  15. Wise choices to attempt to slow the spread. My thread was shut down on this, but, I cannot post in the oval office due to my political passions. All I'll say is, my family friend in Japan, who is in the know, says prepare for it to get much worse. Much of what IS NOT being reported specifically to avoid a panic is what he is in reference to. I'm no medical guy by any stretch, but when someone with that kind of access to a foreign gov'ts actual numbers and is indirectly involved in global planning on this, I pay attention.
  16. If they can address the 2C and top 6 RW situation combined with assembling a 3rd line that contributes that should alleviate some of the problem with Skinner. Couldn't hurt anyways, imo. One thing I have been doing in the past couple of weeks is watching Cozens videos. Him with Skinner on his LW looks awfully tempting offensively. Speed.
  17. I don't see any official updates on this rumor, is there still a feeling of a green light for cleaning house at seasons end?
  18. I grew up on so many of these shows. It's seems a life time ago now. I miss the days of going out on my bike, no phones, no social media, just you and your friends. 40 yrs ago for me I was 10, I miss those days, even though technology allows us to speak with one another on a broader scale. We covet what we know so they say. And on that note, it looks like Eichel is channeling his inner Schultz and saying "I know nothing, I see nothing Hogan". ?
  19. You ever been in combat? Ever have your adrenaline pumping your heart so hard you can feel the pounding on your chest above all else, all while pushing forward, door to door, expecting to die with each passing second, hoping you don't, while continuing to push forward, door to door, and this goes on for hours and hours and hours, hustling to push your hand in to your friends gut, literally in to his gut as his bowels lay open from one of a 100 of just that days event? To even suggest that nothing compares to what these players go through is baffling, to some of us. And their audience, is that some of us, just a reminder.
  20. I'm reserving my funniest moment for when someone throw's a rubber ***** on the ice during game play. Should have happened 7, 8 seasons ago. Disappointed in my fellow Sabres fanatics for not doing it yet.
  21. Feel for some of the players if indeed it is the fans forcing his hand to such actions.
  22. It's the Ranch dressing. I've yet to hear a player on the roster outside of Eichel answer blue cheese when asked to choose for chicken wings. It's what worries me about Dahlin, he answered Ranch when asked. It's definitely Ranch dressing. That is the crux of what's wrong with Dad. Thankfully there is a solution. I happen to hold a "How To" class specifically for proper Buffalo Wings consumption, and, for a modest fee would highly encourage all Sabres organization, including the owners, to attend my $1000 a class, 3 classes a week, 27 week course. All they have to bring is their own bottle of Frank's Hot Sauce and their appetites. This will fix everything, after all, I offer a 49% guarantee. ?
