No, but if that did happen, I'd find that humorous.....😀
-
Lol, It was a word play Taro. We've endured this long with the product in much worse shape than this, but I thought a little humor would be nice. But if I'm being honest, that was a terrible performance in the 1st. We were on the blue line, row 8 lower bowl, penalty box side, my daughter and son in law's season tickets. I got a real good look at those first 3 goals. That sucked lol

The choices are limiting. I'd say it's the coaching staff and players. To myself, poor attendance and arena atmosphere have nothing to do with it. If it had, how does one explain the team play on the road, where attendance and environment is actually hostile to the opponent? I bet Sabretooth would hold down a .923 save percentage if we decided to suit him up in net. Harrington was an interesting choice, it allowed my home game anger emotions an outlet, but then my blood pressure returned to normal once I reminded myself Harrington couldn't get a cucumber to pickle, so I felt better knowing what he does to himself with them.......

I answered the call. Went to the game last night. That game didn't break the opponent, it broke my mental state.

I'm at the game.....so sad, so few seats filled -
Those nose bleeds should be 20 a ticket, they can make up the difference with the 35 dollar a beer they're going to fleece me for 🤔

Could be. But Meiers would be a buy with an option to sell if the price to keep is not palatable. In other words, he'd be a pricey pick up asset wise but would most certainly net you assets if you had to move him next deadline. I'd have to see which prospect the Sabres would give to get him. I'm not so concerned about the roster player, I think it'd be Mitts anyways, but, who knows.
-
The cap isn't a concern for me if we trade for Meiers. His qualifying offer is 10 mil for his last rfa year, if you can't sign him to a reasonable deal, I'm more than confident he'll be very tradable by next deadline. We'll have more than enough cap space for that QO. Dahlin isn't due up until the following season. My concern would be the assets given. I'm hesitant on over paying.

Thanks Ink. I have the AHL stream package for Rochester, just haven't been able to catch but a handful of games, so I'm in the dark ad to what he's done this season.

Is this a performance based move, or is the organization making room on the AHL farm team roster?

Good God no......run, run away from this idea

Eichel thrown under the bus by Vegas HC Bruce Cassidy
Scottysabres replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
Well maybe if Jack had spent more time practicing those toe drags or shooting at the actual net instead of perfecting his every shift shoulder slumping with Warner Brother cartoon eye rolls, he may have been picked to carry Tage's gear in to the locker room. Instead, he was shipped off to gamblers anonymous heaven, where his perfected shoulder slumping and eye rolls blend in at the rows of slot machines. -
Nice read. Glad Dahlin addressed the fans. To bad an overwhelming number of the fans are being priced out of being there.

Well, the Sabres can handle the asset cost. I am sure that AAV is expected. Can GM Adam's work the salary cap maze to make all this work? Botteril made a mistake giving Skinner that full NMC imho. But it can be done. Nabbing Timo denies other teams in the playoff hunt in the Eastern Conference his services while adding him as a top 2 line core element. The question im asking myself......Are the Sabres ready for it?

I am more moderate. I believe this team can be in position to fight for a playoff spot. I also see the potential both a final 1/4 of the season battle for a playoff spot as well as the actual playoff experience can do for this young teams confidence, especially going in to next season. It's in that line of thinking that I am with others, if a move is made, make it stick. We've discussed team need, Meier has been discussed some, but there may very well be others that are worthy of conversation as well. The point is, whether we think this team can streak on in deep in to a playoff run or just battle to get in to the playoffs, these are finally becoming meaningful conversations for this fan base. There is light at the end of the tunnel it would more than appear.

I am happy they didn't have skin in the Horvat game, I disagree that they should stand pat if they're still in the playoff hunt come around deadline time
-
I do as well. But no decision is with out risk. Stay the course, will this existing roster make the playoffs this season or next? Make a move, will it be enough, or as you question, will it be the correct move? In the end, if they are fighting for a playoff spot come a couple weeks before dead line day, I say make the moves necessary to be in the fight to the end of the season. The question then becomes....long term acquisition, which comes with a greater price tag, or, short term acquisition, which is less cost adverse? I say both if it can be done without gutting the chemistry of the existing roster. For example, Meier rumor, who am I willing to part with for that longer term type investment? Quinn? JJP? A top end pipe line talent and draft capital? It's a tough call to be sure, but, the chance for the core of this roster to gain invaluable playoff experience is far more important to myself then retaining some asset capital, imho. It depends on Adam's and his staff, what do they deem invaluable going forward?

Eichel thrown under the bus by Vegas HC Bruce Cassidy
Scottysabres replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
Looks like the dam is bursting on the Eichel myth. The pre myth Sabres fan build up as the lottery drew near, the first couple of seasons drove by..... Generational talent? Little difference between McDavid and Eichel? Then, came seasons 3 and 4, and reality began to set in on the Sabres faithful. Eichel wasn't the holy grail, he wasn't even on the path to the promise land. Is he a leader? Is he the problem? He wants to leave? Good riddance? I don't know what every one thinks of Eichel, but 3 things were clear with his time in Buffalo.... A. Fans were hard on him, he wasn't a generational talent, but a dam good one, even with his inconsistencies. B. He wasn't a leader, at least not a roster leader. C. The continuing questions surrounding him in Buffalo have obviously followed him to Vegas. As a Sabres faithful I feel not 1 way or the other on Eichel. He wasn't the answer for our Sabres, he most likely won't be the answer for the Knights.... What I will say is this.... thank you kindly Jack for the trade return viddles..... -
Not that I can see. Of course, others most certainly have more info on our overall pipeline. Even still, they're not likely to be here in the next season and half or so. I'm of the opinion that if we are going to address the absence on the roster, trade or off season are to be it. Personally, I prefer a Meier type player.
-
I've only been preaching it for a few years now, but yes, I concur, the Sabres lack beef.
