  1. Not sure where the sentiment for limited roster change is coming from. The Sabres roster in 2021 saw five changes on the forward line compared to the last game in 2020. The defensive corps was left unchanged, which was a failure of the GM and contributed a last in the league record, and last in goals against. The goaltender decision was well document and bad luck aside, another demerit for Adams. I suspect there will be at least seven new faces in the starting line up in October and I hope it’s more. I’m not married to anyone on the roster The team needs a massive roster change if they want any kind of growth in the future. They are weak in body and mind. I can’t help thinking about the statement from Terry Pegula during the blue and gold video when they learn Hall is going to sign and he says, “ we’re not only trying to make the playoffs, were trying to win the cup“. Just no clue about how tainted the roster was/is. A team that hasn’t sniffed the playoffs in forever is going to be challenging for the Stanley Cup? By signing one player and not changing any of the pieces on defense or in goal? If Reinhart is not willing to sign long-term and that affects Jack in some way, shape or form then move them both. Don’t kick the can down the road any longer. Then move on from Risto, Miller and McCabe. See if maybe Tampa is willing to move Cernak. If you take McDonaghs contrat maybe the price is a lot lower. They are $3.5m over the cap with only 17 players signed next year. Even If they are fortunate enough to have Seattle pick up a 5+ million dollar contract in Johnson they are still in Cap hell this summer and will need to extricate themselves from one large contract. Could Calgary be a destination for Sam? They need a shake up too. Add in an Eakin Buyout, Yes, better off to give him 2/3’s than his entire salary next year, as opposed to burying in the minors. He needs the shame of wearing a scarlet ‘B’ on his sweater next season. And the cap implications are more advantageous for the Sabres in 2022. Only $583k cap hit, verses $1.3m by keeping him. Kyle to LTIR. Seems like it’s easier to prove these days. I agree with Dudaceck that Linus will be pursued and tempted to leave so no hometown discounts and we should be prepared to look for two goalies. Maybe Quicke comes back as salary when Jack is traded to the Kings 🎱. So you need to find only one. The only line I’m probably down with returning is Asplund/Mitts/Thompson. The top six needs to be overhauled. And the fourth could be Zemgus, Bjork or Olofsson and a UFA.
  2. I have a burning desire to cut that ginger...as in waive. I’ll settle for a June buyout.
  3. I googled Scepter of Pleasure and did not find B movies with this title. Catchy.
  4. Vegas agrees with you. The Sabres are (unsurprisingly) the biggest dog on the board. A bit more than NJ hosting the Bruins. Smart money is on the Isles, big. Do the kids have anything left in the tank after an emotional victory last night?
  5. re: Dahlin - agree on what others have said on AAv. Mitts AAV is a little low Nick’s AAV might be OK but he’s not signing for two years. His guarantees will be more. All of your trades are lowballs and unrealistic. A graduate of the DR school of trade management I see. Heed the advice of Hoss from last week.
  6. Different levels of “bust potential” with both. Dahlin has displayed glimpses of greatness on offense, but similar train wreck qualities in his own zone still not resolved and displayed as recently as Thursday. So the term bust is used very loosely. Not outside a top 4, just not a #1 overall cornerstone piece. I cannot just hope these traits get fixed. And without a drastic improvement in such I would not commit term, hence my preference to a bridge. Diff’rent Strokes I guess.
  7. Sam’s first bridge deal was $3.6m (avoided arbitration). Not sure how Dahlin’s contribution in comparison would yield that much better. Number 1 overall selections tend to avoid arbitration but I can see this being a 2 year bridge deal with an AAV in the $4.5m-5m range. He has not earned a term of 6 years.
  8. Wish him all the best In retirement. A truly great Buffalo Sabre. I have so much in common with Ryan. We currently live in OC. We spent our formative years in the 716. And we both like to make ourselves “big”.
  9. The guy supposedly in charge kept Hutts. Nothing is certain next year.
  10. You need to visit So Cal - San Diego, LA or Orange Counties and have Carne Asada, Carnitas, or Pollo taco's. So many options on flavored tortillas, flour or corn. And the chips and salsa are always made fresh. Like hot, fresh out of the oil corn chips. Some places even press their flour tortillas fresh each night.
  11. Closer than you think. You also have to factor in region and quality of the pizza or tacos. For example, I live in Orange County CA and we have incredible options on authentic Mexican or Tex-Mex food. Pizza, not so much. Every time we have visitors from the 716 region, they never want to order a pizza. Conversely, when I visit my parents in Buffalo and my options are pizza vs taco's the decision is clear cut. Pizza 100%.
  12. There is just no sound logic in this line of thought. Sound familiar?
  13. How many second overall (Byfield) turn out to be a bust? It’s much more probable the prospect is a legit top 90 player than a bust. By a long shot. Granted you are resetting the timeline, but I’m strictly talking about talent. He’s crushing the AHL as an 18 year old out here in Ontario.
  14. Mofo War. The Thomas E. Dewy Thruway Series. #battleofNYS F the Blue Shirts!!!
  15. Absolutely serious. He slowed but did make contact, just with his backside. Angle in clip wasn’t great. Nice play.
  16. You don’t have to be big to make big hits. Sandin is 21 and 5’11. Nice player. And he’s a Rasmus, how is not on the Buffalo Rasmi?
