Pictures like this should have been circulating mainstream media from the beginning. People don't tend to grasp the gravity of situations until imagery is presented to them on a silver platter (ie. war photos). I suppose the counter to this argument would be an avoidance of panic/hysteria but that pretty much happened anyway to a certain degree. Personally I think the photographic evidence of the seriousness would have done greater good than harm. What amazes me is how extremely graphic movies are nowadays and these pictures aren't a sliver of what you'd see in the plethora of violent movies rotating through entertainment outlets.

I was raised Catholic. Going into the science field did create a confliction in beliefs. The ongoing problem with the Catholic church has affected me over the years as well, especially now that I have young children (yes I know it can happen anywhere). I attend mass with the family for the big holy days. I respect all religions and hope that everyone who has led a decent life gets to go to whatever their version of heaven is. Personally, I would love to travel back in time or to the future or go anywhere in the universe I wanted to go to at any time.

I've never fully understood how different hospital positions work. I just figured most of the staffing was full time permanent positions. Guess there are a lot more moving parts than I thought, it's unfortunate.

Came home from work just now and was excited to see Magnolia was possibly on the TV guide. I say possibly because the movie that's actually on is Steel Magnolias and is not the Tom Cruise movie I expected...

Fresh measurable snow in the driveway. You've waited around for the plow to come through before you tackle it. You can't wait any longer and clear it out. As you're putting the winter weapon of choice away the plow comes through like a bat out of hell and buries the end of your driveway. There must be a name for that.

I'm guessing they'll get there sooner based on the global response but my question is if this virus has mutated will a vaccine protect against all strains? Influenza has multiple subtypes so there's no guarantee the flu vaccine of the year will be effective. Would that be a similar situation with this virus?
