  1. No. Absolutely no. When you are close to getting there it's on the GM to make bold moves to take the extra step.
  2. Quinn (he's an Ottawa kid isn't he?) , Byram and 2 first round picks. Is that enough? If we made that deal soon I guarantee we'd be in the playoffs.
  3. Pretty even game really between pretty equal teams but we came out on top so that's all that matters. It was mostly garbage hockey but Sabres were slightly better in the second half. It annoys me that our smallest players have to be the stand up guys because our big players are such pussies but hey, at least we have somebody. Quinn is playing slightly better. Cozens not so much. Win's a win. Time to sweep with a win in San Jose.
  4. Need to win these games to have a chance but no reason they can't win it. Regardless, I just hope somebody smacks Zegras if he tries a Michigan.
  5. This is hilarious. Leaf fans are hilarious. I certainly hope they plan to fully rely on Marner. That way we can be assured of another first round exit as he disappears again once the playoffs start. At which point all the Leaf fans will want him traded and so the cycle continues.
  6. Watched the Bruins tonight play 1-0 against Utah and win by the one PP goal. Very deja vu two nights in a row. Sabres play Bruins we might be waiting all night for a goal and go 0-0 to a shootout.
  7. I will take it, because winning is more fun than losing, but it was a little Bylsma-esque.
  8. tbh a pretty boring hockey game but they came out on the right side of it. PK was really good and they got the one goal so all is well. UPL very good. The last 2 minutes they were so passive I thought they were going to blow it. LA in full control there but they missed their best shots and it was UPL's game. LA plays a boring style though that's for sure.
  9. Ruff seems quite serious so I figure it was a lunch counter and the guy wouldn't give Lindy his burger until he answered the questions. Lindy didn't have time to go to another place.
  10. Yes I think that's what it proves. Ultimately it's just about winning. If you win then everything is fine. The coach is clever, the GM made good deals, the mistakes are excused, the culture is strong and everything is wonderful. When you don't win, all those same things are some level of garbage. The switch from hero to zero can happen quickly. After 13 years of it though, things do get cynical quickly. Bruins fans, on the other hand, are spoiled rotten and aren't used to it so for them the sky is truly falling.
  11. Sadly, I think this is probable.
  12. So those lines look like the old spread everything out and roll all 4 strategy rather than having one good one bad. idk I really don't like the look of Zucker-Kulich-Quinn. They've had good road trips before, but LA is playing pretty good hockey. Not an easy game.
  13. I am finding it weird, but also quite amusing how quickly the Bruins fan site has turned into the same type of conversations that we have had here for years. It's a large and diverse group with many opinions but the "arguments" now are the same. Fire the GM, culture is broken, lazy country club locker room, tear it down and start over. Almost everything read here is now over there. Also Sweeney quoted with "players that want to be here will stay". How familiar is that! Now the only problem for me is the Sabres aren't winning yet. The flip is missing that part of the equation. I really don't want to go looking for a 3rd team to enjoy hockey.
  14. No offense but this is rubbish. I wouldn't be surprised if Ruff insisted on Skinner off the roster as a condition to take the job. The guy has ZERO work ethic, is completely uncoachable, and his attitude rubs off on players around him. It is not a fluke that he has never been in the playoffs and it is not a coincidence that more than one team has wanted him gone. Yes, Kreuger was right about this. maybe the only thing he was right about, but he was right about this.
  15. I think the difference is that Terry knows he doesn't know anything about football so he lets the hired people do their job and just enjoys his investment. On the other hand, he THINKS he knows a lot about hockey so he's the de facto GM.
  16. I find it hilarious that I heard this here before I heard it on the Bruins site. It was inevitable. They are a disaster right now. I could list a bunch of reasons for it (Swayman is the biggest) but it's a Sabres site so just enjoy their freefall. I am surprised they gave it to Sacco though. I had thought that's why they brought back Leach but whatever. If they flounder new coach next year.
  17. They say we will get a "bomb cyclone" where I live tonight. When did weather get this dramatic? It's going to be windy. Bomb Cyclone would be a good nickname for something in hockey though. Like the Surge. We need a BOMB CYCLONE!
  18. Marchand. 🙂
  19. Oh I totally agree. Who knows with Adams though, maybe he'd decide he needs Zadorov 🙂 Bruins called. Doesn't mean Adams was interested.
  20. It's where he should have been to start the season.
  21. I hear Boston has called up asking about Tuch. I would hope Adams is not considering it.
  22. Can't be worse than Quinn's been. I doubt however, if he's much better. He's next guy with a chance. It's up to him to seize the moment if he gets in the line up.
  23. You've really gone and done it. Now Taylor Swift will never play Buffalo 🙂 That was a good football game. I don't watch a lot of football any more but today I watched Ravens Steelers and then Bills Chefs and that was entertaining all around.
  24. Well that would be even more troubling because as I understand it he sits in on many, if not all, of the meetings with management. I would suspect his attitude post Eichel has been "I'm not spending on them until they start winning". Which of course contributes to them still losing.
