  1. I've noticed Skinner twice. Both times going it alone trying to get past 2 defenders and turning the puck over. I hear he thinks he's an impact player though.
  2. Hagg is a Jag and Dahlin is awful in this game. I'm not sure this team could win in the AHL .
  3. I'm not firing a guy for taking 20 bucks.
  4. That's what I thought, and then it was aggravated in that islander game but what actually happened in the off season is still vague as far as I can tell.
  5. Here's my question. Has anyone credible actually ever confirmed where/when/how this injury occurred and what exactly it is? Seems to me nobody will trade for him without medical guarantees, and Sabres won't provide those and so this just gets uglier and uglier. I suspect at some point the league will quietly step in here (behind closed doors maybe) cause this is bad PR all around.
  6. Ummmm, because they didn't have a scouting staff?
  7. Nothing. very little. why is this even a question?
  8. I notice how you glossed over my comment on worshiped hockey players from the past, and completely ignored my comment about how for years (and still) the NFL excuses and forgives much worse offenses than this. Point being, the crime and the punishment should be in proportion. The main point here being that banning this guy is a feel good response that has very little effect and simply ruins this guy's life for a dumb (and offensive) incident. NOBODY emulates this guy, or follows him or worships him. He won't be in the hall of fame anywhere. He won't be a pro broadcaster after he retires, he won't be someone young kids look for footsteps to follow in. Banning him just makes people like you feel good. It does nothing. You want that sort of thing out of sports? I'm with you on that 100%. But if you don't start with the "stars" and the "pros" that do these things you're really skirting the issues for money etc. and thus nothing changes. My many excuses are just possibilities to explain the guy. Might be true, might not. I don't know anything about him, and neither do you. Some moron bullies need help, not just a beat down. The only point I give to you is his age. I assumed he was younger. 23 makes it worse I agree. He should be better at that age, but it doesn't change the argument. But honestly, I don't care about this guy. You want to have at me as you like to do keep bringing it but you are right, we will not agree.
  9. We had a Zack, and a Zach, but no Jacks.
  10. Well I guess we have a better shot at Wright than the Dead Things.
  11. Where did I call him a "sad and poor kid"? I'm not a big fan of drawing a line at any person's expense (no matter how vile they might be as an individual). You want that stuff out of the sport, have the league make a ruling that any racist gesture will be met with punishment X (be that a ban or whatever) but do it in that order, not after the fact in some PC culture way. The hockey hall of fame is filled with racists, homophobes, wife beaters, you name it. You want them all removed? No, we evolve as a society but we do it without singling out any one thing or grandstanding an incident. Punish the guy yes, but a lifetime ban is too extreme. I mean come on, hockey is way ahead of the NFL on these things and nobody lifetime bans anybody in that league of thugs, criminals and rapists.
  12. I have two problems with this idea. 1) I believe in redemption and giving people a chance to change. lifetime ban for repeated offenses I'd be fine with. Lifetime ban for one, that's too extreme. and 2) If there is a clear punishment code BEFORE the incident then I also have no problem with it, but to decide something that extreme after an offense, especially when similar earlier offenses have occurred with lesser punishments seems wrong. Having said that I do think what he got wasn't enough. The season plus some sort of sensitivity training courses as a prerequisite to reinstatement would be a minimum imo.
  13. Ya, I think ultimately it's not about what Adams wants it's about what the insurance company demands. They aren't going to allow anything that might invalidate that.
  14. What you write here is probably what it will be, but you have to realize (and I think you do) that none of these options is the making of a good power play.
  15. Sheahan is looking like the probable 4th line center for the Kraken. Will Borgen, on the other hand, has not impressed, currently sits about 8 or 9 on their D depth chart and will likely be waived/sent to the minors.
  16. I don't see anything there that isn't true from his perspective. He sees similarities with his ankle issue and views it through that lens. It was exactly what he said it was and it maybe still is.
  17. You didn't realize I was joking? Really?
  18. True, and not only is the Reinhart option gone, so is the Risto option. I'm actually curious to see who ends up there. Tage? Big for a screen but not tough enough. Cozens? Maybe. I saw him do that with Team Canada but is he strong enough yet? I'm really not sure this roster can put any sort of decent PP together aside from Dahlin on a point and Olofsson as a high sniper.
  19. I honestly don't know what this team is doing or what the actual roster will look like so wouldn't surprise me if he's 1C on the Sabres . Crazy, but not impossible.
  20. Okay this is cancel culture I do not want to see in sports. People make mistakes. Kids are dumb. Hockey players (sometimes) are even dumber. Kids are often raised poorly by bad/racist parents and they need to grow and learn. One strike and you're out is just ridiculous. Do I excuse the guy? Absolutely not. Does he deserve punishment? Absolutely. but he also deserves a chance to mature, learn from his mistake and become better. So a very very short leash, but everyone should get a second chance .
  21. That would definitely be a win, but can he? I look at Skinner, who is supposed to be a goal scorer, and I wonder to myself why does nobody use him on the power play where by definition he SHOULD be a natural fit and a scoring threat (like Olofsson is) but he doesn't ever work out there. Why? Because he's a selfish player, bad passer, and does not take direction well. A PP is a coordinated unit, and he just can't be coached. That's my view of him anyway, so if Granato can get him back to being any kind of actual offensive threat, a 2nd liner even, then he's done something right for sure.
  22. I did apparently. My stream cut out so I missed it, but from what I understand they played much better. Maybe Weissbach will be something good? That would be good. Cozens on the wing, Quinn at center. That's the better combo imo.
  23. lol, this is most definitely premature musings.
  24. Oh that's definitely true, but it'd be nice to see a little more energy and desire in this bunch. Columbus is not a very good team and it shouldn't look THIS bad.
  25. So really the PCQ line which sounds a little like pissyque so that'd be a no.
