I also think he should be looking for a couple gritty 2 way role players that can maybe kill penalties and/or win face offs but I think he knows that too. He just crapped out on Eakin and Staal. So many goalie options, so much cap space and trade capital. Just get it DONE!!!!!!!!!!

Levi is penciled in as our future star goalie, no question. But he's not a sure thing. He has to be given the chance to be that guy, but he might not be, or he might not be that guy yet. So we need a good #2 or a temporary #1. There are SO MANY goalies in play this off season if Adams can't upgrade from Comrie/UPL then he's not trying hard enough.

Probably. Price of goalies is often quite low though and if Ullmark is on the block and Hellybuck is on the block the price(s) might come down. Briere's looking smarter so maybe it's only Murray that gives goalies away for nothing to tank 🙂

Philly is deconstructing, no question. Is there a Philly vet we'd want? I don't think so. Hart however, is a big upgrade and gives us stability while Levi develops. Give them Olafsson and their 2nd back, maybe throw in a late pick some year and get it done. (I do find it amusing though that so many people want to ditch UPL and/or Comrie and then they are worried about losing them if waived. Neither one matters.)

Well things change, people change. This team is a different team and his career is in a different place so you never know but as I said, I wouldn't. makes zero sense for the Flyers to have Peterson AND Hart though. Something will give at some point.

idk, I think with the Peterson addition Hart is in fact on the trade block and the Flyers might really want their 2nd back. Could we unload Olafsson with that 2nd and maybe get Hart? Solid move imo. Levi still the goalie of the future but he gets time to grow into the role and if Hart is actually good we end up with an even better new dilemma of too many good goalies competing for ice time. It makes sense all around.

Hart's better than you guys think. I saw a few Flyers games this year where he was the only thing keeping them in it, and also keep in mind Risto was part of the D in front of him. That alone drops any goalie's stats. Philly won't want UPL. They have Errson coming. maybe they want their 2nd back. plus? Could we possibly be looking at Peterson though? Philly retains salary maybe? I wouldn't, but if Adams just wants a new back up to Levi it's possible.

That's exactly it right, learn to play team D and add that to the offense we already have developing. It does contrast to the Toronto problem for sure. All that money in 4 forwards. Ideally if our 'core" can be a 5 man unit and a goalie our odds of long term success will be better than theirs are or ever were. Right now the Leafs have Reilly locked up at a decent level but the big 4 use up around 40 million and Matthews wants even more. We on the other hand, even with Skinner's deal, are only using about 28 for our top 4 forwards. Samuelsson's locked up for a very reasonable mid defender level price and even with Dahlin at 10ish we have tons of money left for any of the young guys that earn it. We have room to spend a little. No need to stay a cap floor team this year.

Not trading away a first (unless it's a spectacular return) . I would look at trading a second + If no trades, I draft BPA BUT if 2 or 3 players are close in my ranking I'd probably go D and that should be an option in the 2nd round. Several possibles in our range. What do we have 8 picks I think? Ideally we end up with 3 forwards 4 D men and a goalie but if BPA doesn't allow that it is what it is and we look to free agency and trades for more D. I still think we should be talking to Boston about Gryzelyk.

Big moment for the franchise and their plan if this is true. His signing was the one thing that could have derailed everything in a year (if not done) so this solidifies the young core. Fill the holes and we are there.

We do generally play a 1-3-1 but as for D, I can see why you aren't sure, because neither are they. It's not consistent and it's full of holes. We are employing a swiss cheese philosophy. and it's more net side than front.

The use of the 10 minute misconduct all through this year's playoffs has been utter BS. Refs seem to have favoured Vegas overall in Vegas. We will see if that changes or not in Florida but the league may prefer a Vegas victory. Bob seems to have lost his mojo, Fitz was garbage. Montour getting worn out? Only good thing in this game was Eichel getting smacked. Legal hit imo.

Quinn, Krebs and Peterka should have had their roles cut back THIS season but that's history now. They've had their "development year". I believe you should go into every season as a blank slate and players earn their roles and ice time by their play, so if next season ANY of these players doesn't deliver the goods they get cut back. It's been a very long time since any coach here has had the real ability to limit or even sit out players that under perform as we've had thin rosters with a lack of talent on them. Hopefully we will have a deep team next year and the coach can sit ANYBODY.
