Pretty sure he did, and it's not like he's a great player now. He's still a one dimensional offensive guy with limitations but we constantly see good teams able to find roles for these Sabre cast offs and it speaks to the inability of this organization to properly construct rosters. I mean Quinn, this year, was most definitely not an upgrade on VO. He might be later, but not so far.

People can have more than one residence. Lots of players live elsewhere in the off season. I'm sure Dudley had a condo or rented a place down there. You need to find out where his primary residence is for how he handles tax laws 🙂 I couldn't care less where Staal lives, what Staal says or what he does or doesn't do. It's funny to see all the Rick Dudley stuff on twitter etc. I wanted them to hire Dudley as a Senior advisor/Director of Hockey ops whatever type thing back when it was time to fire Murray and start over. And then again when they fired JBot. And after that even. So now it just feels like too little way too late. I mean sure, but BELOW Adams? That's backass. If they hired Dudley, Dudley should be the one deciding if Adams deserves to keep his job.

wtf are you trying to say? That a guy who has failed to get in the playoffs for 5 straight years and made zero progress should NOT be fired? So yes, fire people. Of course. I know you are (and I said ages ago one of Power or Byram should be traded as we have enough offensive D men with 2 we don't need 3) so if you think Power has the greater ceiling you keep him. Adams paid him so that doubles down on it for him to stand by his decision. The issue is why trade for Byram at all? It's clearly a plan to avoid paying people. I'm throwing the 15 years out there because I can no longer treat this team as a normal team. I can't discuss in good faith how next year it'll be better or this time we draft the right guy or Adams will finally make good deals and all the normal stuff with sports. It's clear the franchise isn't normal They are seriously broken and there is no fix in sight. There is no faith and there is no room for belief. Believing in this team running it back and it somehow working would be an indicator that you should seek therapy and/or medication because you are clearly insane if you do that. Ya and I guess that's what Pegula believes as well. Eventually it'll all just fall into place. I'm just pissed they have no urgency or real desire to win. Giant war chest filled with prospects. Lots of trades you could make and they are just running everything back. Norris instead of Cozens and Levi instead of Reimer and that's it. I guess a Byram trade for who knows what so the D is even thinner. This year Adams will do something good though right? Right.

This news that Adams etc. are all coming back is not unexpected. It was in fact predicted, but I wanted to be wrong and surprised with something positive. Now I really don't give a crap any more. Garbage franchise.

Well ya, their strength and conditioning was garbage but there's too many young skinny pups on this roster and that's the real problem. I'm sure Ruff was pissed at the state of their conditioning but this move is nothing of any real value. The players should be bulking already in junior and in the AHL. The whole development system is badly run.

This would prove exactly what I said (and I wasn't alone) at the time of the deal. They didn't want to pay Mitts what he wanted so they kicked it down the road with a different RFA and now they don't want to pay him and will kick it down the road with another one. I'm not upset with trading Byram (assuming this is real). I'm pissed we traded for him in the first place. Not cause I liked Mitts all that much, but because none of this makes sense if you are trying to win. Cause you're not.

Highly possible and then I can see Adams not being able to pass up Mrtka's height at 9 thinking there's his Power partner Samuelsson replacement even though in reality Mrtka is (I would guess) 3 years away minimum if you want to develop him properly. I would be very happy with Bear at 9 but very little in Sabreland makes me happy any more. No, we've won it twice. Sabres are so inept the league should consider penalizing them for it and not letting them have any more top 10 picks. If you can't win with this number of picks we've had we don't deserve any.

Islanders is rigged? If it was rigged it would have been Boston or Pittsburgh.

Pick #9, Quinn and Samuelsson or Clifton for a proper top 4 D man. How about that? (the Clifton/Samuelsson part is to shed salary to help pay Byram and that top 4 D man long term) for example. As above, it has to be a package.

Bennett be Bennett, otherwise Florida and Bobrovski came out flat. I would think they will be better next game.

I just meant I'm not sure where he ends up in team's rankings. I wasn't suggesting jumping way down but if some team around 12 desperately wants one of the D men that are ranked around 9-10 maybe you can do that. I'd be fine with taking him at 9. I like him a lot as a future NHL player. When the Bruins looked like a picking 12-15 type team I suggested Bear there. Cause he's good, and well, "Bear" on the Bruins, you can't get better than that. Now that they are where they are taking Bear would be strange. Sabres on the other hand don't have to get the analytical BPA they can weigh things towards character and type and make the move. I am sure whoever gets him will have made a good pick.

That's true. They are the biggest fish in that small pool. Jets are all Winnipeg really has. There's the CFL team and they get a crowd but it's not really competition. Buffalo's market is much bigger though and it's located better. Bottom line, Adams has no real excuse.
