There is a truth to the saying that "When you hit Rock Bottom it offers a solid foundation to rebuild your life". Sabres should of done what they are doing years ago. I HATE that they waited this long. The only question for me is do I purchase Center Ice to watch the kids of take the year off. I probably will purchase it. One thing I will not do is think about next years draft during this season. That's a rabbit hole I will not go down again!

How about the Sabres retain some of Jack's money this year and they throw in a 2023 3rd. Sabres won't be anywhere near the cap this year. I just want to get this over with!

I tend to agree with your logic. Linus has the upper hand but a 3x6M / 4x5M max seems a great deal for him and where the Sabres are at. I'm still hoping he signs for less than that! Sabres (unless something big in the works for a G) pretty much have to have him on the team.

I guess in a perfect world Linus signs and competes for 1A and gets beat out and becomes 2A. IMO.

I agree he would need to be in a discussion about it. Having a player who doesn't want to be on a team as a Captain seems wrong. I can't help but thinks it's a bad move for the young guys.

IF Jack plays in a Sabres Jersey again (and that's a big IF IMO) it can't have a C on it. I mean it just can't. They also can't have a couple of As and no C so the only person who could take that job away from him is Kyle Okposo. Kyle would have to reign in any "not buying in" attitude from Jack or it would get too ugly in the locker room.

I don't believe they will want to purposely tank. They will be in the lottery so there will be a chance. Building a proper culture is job one and showing the youngsters a tanking team is not the proper course.
