  1. Vegas down 5-1 to the jets right now.
  2. And for only 2x2mil. Would have loved him at a 2x3mil or even 4million per year.
  3. I’m not opposed to using one of the firsts and Ryan Johnson in a trade for a proven RD IF there is a quality option. I don’t think spending 2 firsts and our second is a wise move, those are likely to be key depth when we do ice a good team.
  4. They are position adjusted so that you can compare forwards and defensemans’ offensive potential in a similar light. The multiplier is adjusted from league to league, but it’s about 1.3x the points you would expect them to get. It’s so you don’t have a list where the top 30 prospects have 1 defenseman. If you adjust for that, it’s saying Power has the potential to be a ~54 point defenseman.
  5. If you’re sick of rebuilding, I wouldn’t recommend the Tim Murray strategy, we’ve been there, tried that, and 6-7 years later still aren’t in the playoffs.
  6. Also interesting to note that his points per game is still just about the same as his rookie year in 2018-19
  7. Yes, but you have to wonder if this was discussed before carolina offer sheeted him. I remember there being discussion of a cheaper contract coming as 6 million seemed like far too much at the time.
  8. They are at 83 million with 19 players signed. They’ll have to move a player or two (or more, unless they only sign vet minimum players)
  9. The Vegas pick is top 10 protected, not playoff protected. Vegas would have to win the lottery for us to not get their pick this year.
  10. I was thinking the same thing, except Edmonton or the Canucks. Dallas is 1 point back with 3 games to catch up on, but it won’t matter if another team in Vegas’s division doesn’t pass them. I have a little more faith in Dallas than I do Edmonton.
  11. Don’t look now, but after dropping the last 3 Vegas is 9th in points per game in the west.
  12. I believe you mean 4 goals, 4 assists, he currently has 8 points on the season.
  13. KA is about to be in year 3 next year, he’ll likely be seeing some pressure to improve. This year’s focus was on development, not winning, so I don’t really hold him accountable for not getting good goaltending this year. We have yet to see what next year’s focus will be, so it’s quite hard to say whether we’ll actually go out and acquire a goalie.
  14. A little bit of Hopium: UPL is 2-5-2, which is a worse record than Anderson, but actually has better numbers than Anderson this season. UPL In the NHL this year has a .917 save percentage compared to Anderson’s .904, and a 2.74 gaa compared to Anderson’s 3.01. I think the differences in record can be attributed to Anderson’s communication with his defense, less scoring during UPL’s tenure due to covid, and a smaller sample size. My ideal plan would be to overpay Someone like Francouz on a 1-2 year deal and have UPL as backup, and getting at least one of Levi/Portillo in Rochester for seasoning.
  15. Sabres record with Anderson in net: 9-8 Sabres record without Anderson in net: 10-24-8 ^This is my primary reason for hope next year, if we can get solid goaltending, we can be competitive, especially with the influx of young talent incoming.
  16. It would not be a surprise to me for him to start next year with the Amerks. He still lacks a lot of defensive responsibility to be at the NHL level.
  17. Something else to take into consideration is that Krebs was projected to be a top 10 pick in his draft until he injured his Achilles in his draft year. That likely delayed development some, but he probably has some more talent than most of the picks in his range.
  18. I’m hoping for a 1A type goalie on a 1-2 year contract. Not long enough to hamper the young goalies if they come on strong, and enough insurance that we’ll get some solid goalie play.
  19. I think that’s more due to the lack of talented wings in the lineup rather than where they will necessarily be long term. In 2 years adding Quinn and JJP into the top 6 (at least Quinn) can push them back to center. Right now, of our 6 most talented forwards, 4 are centers, it makes sense that they may play on the wings some in this case.
