Just remember he was a part of the suck here. His stats were good but never was good enough to lead us into the playoffs.

Craig Anderson is going to be an amazing mentor to UPL which is why I think those 2 will be our goal tenders this season. Anderson has been an seen it all so I don't think this is going to be as disasterous as people think but we'll find out soon enough.

Assuming No Deal, Do You Expect Jack To Show Up To Camp?
GoPuckYourself replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
I'm pretty sure he stated he wasn't going to play without surgery, didn't his lawyers also state that? I can't remember. My guess is LTIR and I highly doubt they strip him of the "C" if he does play. -

Can the Sabres Franchise Survive Another Tank/Rebuild?
GoPuckYourself replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
100% yes.... I've heard this same topics in the Buffalo Bills message boards for 17 seasons, people quitting the team that day because we didn't pick up any viable free agents only to return the next day and say they hate the team etc., this board is no different than those and Hockey is just as popular here. We will sustain it, hate it while it's going on and we know that's what's happening and we'll get so much satisfaction when they turn it around just like we do for our Bills. We should be grateful we have a team, support them because 1 day this franchise will be good whether it's by accident or on purpose it's going to happen so we should all be there when it happens, so I'll see you all there on that day!!!! -
Nathan Mackinnon sounds like jack eichel
GoPuckYourself replied to Buffalonill's topic in The Aud Club
Jack shouldn't be leading this team and most likely wont , you don't call out your Organization through the media to get your voice heard, this guy is no leader and it's apparent. Listen to Ryan O'Reilly's locker cleanout about how guys are ok with losing and how it made him feel. Tell me he's not talking about Eichel. How can you even remotely think that Jack is a good leader at this point? -
Who is our most skilled C not named Eichel? I'd say that's Cozens , no? LW Jeff Skinner-C Dylan Cozens-RW Vinnie Hinostroza on line #2? LW Victor Olofsson-C Casey Middlestadt-RW Tage Thompson on line #1 if Jack isn't able to play or wont play.

I don't think after publicly stating that "they are in control of the process and if they can't find value for Jack that wont make a trade" that they will go and just take anything. This is headed for a game of chicken, who is going to crack first? Jack/Other GM's/Nobody? We're about to find out. If GMKA holds true to this I think we have the right leader on board.
-
Yes thank you, I switched it.
-
I'm pretty sure it was approved wasn't it? The Pegula's wanted the traditional surgery but Jack's Dr. wanted him to get the artificial disc, Isn't that the case?
-
I voted No. I mean a trade can happen in a blink but I'd have to say the best time was before the draft, most teams have took themselves out of the race by additions in free agency but we'll see. If teams can get creative it could happen but it will be interesting to see if Jack would even consider playing here still after all that's gone on.
-
He only had 2 goals and didn't play in 20 games and they've had a bunch of interest so I don't think it will be much different.
-
For what reasoning? Have continued talks with teams until you find the right deal. If Eichel plays it will drastically improve the offers imo. You absolutely can't say that we have this under control then trade him for peanuts, they've passed that stage again imo when GMKA stated that "They control this process", so it will either be Jack sits out and is put on LTIR or we trade him for 4 assets or he plays for us and we maximize his trade value. There is no other scenario that I can think of other than Jack retiring which I believe we'd get all the cap hit back and still his rights for 5 years I think?
-
Adams emphasized the fact that they won't trade him if the value isn't there and that's the right approach. You're under contract, you either play for your next contract or you can ride the bench. We cannot budge from the asking price, he is a superstar and the rest of the shark GMs know this.

I think it's more about cap hit and injury concerns and not so much the type of player Eichel is when healthy.
-
I don't know who Mike Russo is but how could he remotely know who the players that are talked about in the trade or what is keeping it from happening? Seems like 1 mans opinion over actual fact. We all assume it's this guy or that guy but until I hear GM Adams say something then I'm going with all opinions but that's just my opinion.
-
Then it's up to them to right the ship...No?
-
Oh the Buffalo media will be entertaining on this day I can hear it now.
-
I'll focus on the Sabres I think will be legit stars for us to make the pain go away LOL Dylan Cozens looks like he'll be our next big star, Dahlin showed real promise at the end of the season and so did Middlestadt. I'm intrigued with Levi/UPL for the future of our goaltenders and think we have 2 gems there. This Levi kid seems like a steal imo. Plus we should see Owen Power/Jack Quinn both get another year under there belt in the minors before making the team next season so I'll be watching those 2 also.

As fans of a team we'll always take it personally when things don't go our way. I really remembering thinking this way sort of throughout the Bills drought but knew all it took was a decent HC to turn it around. I know everyone want's to blame the Pegulas for all our failures and that is your right as a fan but for me it's not like they haven't tried a bunch of different scenarios to try to improve our team.... GM Tim Murray, GM Jason Botterill, GM Kevyn Adams, tried getting help from President Patrick Lafontaine, President Ted Black, Head coaches in Ted Nolan, Dan Bylsma (won a cup with Pittsburgh), Phil Housley, swung and missed in FA with Taylor Hall, Ville Leino, Kyle Okposo, Matt Moulson, Brian Gionta, Jason Pomminstein, Jeff Skinner and a list of others. They are to blame for not getting it right but can't be blamed for not trying imo, eventually though like the Buffalo Bills all it will take is great coaching and to weed out the ones who are making the locker room toxic which imo is what they did with the recent trades and most likely what they'll do with Jack Eichel and although it sucks to see the tank and rebuild #1 all be burnt down it's apparent that it's what needed to happen and we can only hope and pray that we get it right this time around. The good thing/bad thing for me is that if you look at this roster there is no superstar which yes sucks but could also be a great thing, there is no guy on our roster that will think they're bigger than the team and I'm sorry but I'm 100% certain Jack realizes he's the best player and makes it known (I have 0 proof of this but it's my own personal feeling). That being said you may think differently down the line and hopefully you stay on board my friend because when we finally get it right it's going to be a fun ride once again.
-
So we'll see you at the home opener then?
-
Wouldn't it be Anderson/Tokarski? I doubt they rush UPL as he's the starter in Rochester. I like the future in net with UPL and Levi, looks like a solid future there if like you state we don't rush anything and let them develop.
-
So if she said I made a horrible mistake while he was still the GM that would have made more sense?
-
You do realize we got the #1 overall pick with Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart, Jeff Skinner, Taylor Hall, Linus Ullmark, Rasmus Ristolainen right? So those players we lost have been a part of the losing so we should keep this ***** show in tact and just keep rinse and repeating HC and GM's? It's a culture thing just like the Bills and we're eliminating the bad seeds and hopefully infusing the good ones. GM Adams is doing what he needs to do right now and overpaying for more high priced free agents is absolutely dumb and will land us another Okposo or 2. Before wanting to sell this team off step back, lets see if Eichel gets dealt or we make a trade for a G before or just let the kids show us what they've got.
