In my experience when dealing with sensitive issues some sides might think the other is way out of line when maybe they aren't. Some people can't agree to disagree. I probably have an opinion different than most but don't mind having discussions seeing the differences on both sides. My vote (do I get a vote??) What GM would say "he's playing like a 20th pick and not an 8th, gotta ship him". What position any player is drafted should be irrelevant to their development. Going to try to clarify a bit more. If we were trading for a dman. Virtually identical stats and size, let's say 2 very comparable players. One was drafted in the 1st, the other the 3rd. Would that matter as to which we would like to pick up? Of course once upon a time the expectations were greater and lesser respectively, and we would think one may have a higher ceiling, but they're values would still be the same no? If Nylander becomes a middle 6 guy ya we probably could have done better at 8, but where they are drafted has 0 to do with their development

You're aware the kid turned 20... If he was a 2nd or 3rd round pick we wouldn't be talking bust for another 2 years.

Lehner has a career sv% of .915 let's not forget lol. If we sign Mrazek I will be rattled he's a statically worse version of Lehner. If the alternatives are Bernier, ward might as well try for Sparks or Pickard from the leafs and roll 2 young guys and hope one runs with it. If not trade for a solid vet. Would be open to Hutton at 2x4M but not 3x3.5M

So either Jbot was high on on of the player's available and thought they could contribute immediately; or he thinks we are that far out of contention that were still after futures; or he thinks O'Reilly is part of the problem

No contender is picking up BOGO period. If we want to move him, cost is a 1st+ for nothing in return. Only scenario where somebody takes him, would be similar Arizona/Datsyuk. Utmost respect for Holtby, he's the real deal. However to me it makes little sense to pick up a guy whose a UFA before were a relevant hockey team. Rather go after a younger goalie who will grow at be reaching his potential in that timeframe.

Ovechkin deserves a cup. Most people who don't like him, still respect him. Poor guy couldn't escape the 2nd rd bust narrative.

Potential breakout candidates around the league imho would include but not be limited to, and in no particular order: anders Bjork boston, Daniel Sprong Pitty, Milano and Bjorkstrand from clb, donato boston. Guys that I think are less likely to achieve 50 points but establish themselves as useful nhl players with potential: Ottawa Colin White, Kevin Roy Ana, tolvanen Nsh, Dal Colle Nyi, Dylan strome Ari, ty Rattie stl. there's a ton in this category I could update with more if anyone is interested- same goes for defense. Our team expecting a good year from Mitts should hit 45-50 pts, while I expect steps from most of our young guys a dark horse for me would be CJ Smith, I could see him having an impact.

Ya forsure, ROR is a stud for us all season, whoever doesn't know, skilled guys get left off team Canada because of attitude, never are they invited repeatedly or named captain or Alternate.
